Replying to Broken collarbone: recovery, skiing etc

So long story short, i broke my collarbone yesterday at the shoulder trying to nollie this little cliff, and was sent home from the hospital with nothing but a sling and pain killers. I was wondering if anyone else has had to deal with this recently, and how soon you could ski again (how long did it take for your shoulder to not be swinging independently by your side.) Im going to vail with a bunch of friends jan 3 for the biggest trip of the year, and wanted to know if i would be able to ski at least groomers with my sling on or something. Im planning on just sitting in my bed for the nex two weeks and resting my arm as much as possible in hopes that the bone will heal as fast as possible. Anyone had any experience with this anti-climactic injury?
