-- The price of a single-day lift ticket at Vail, Beaver Creek and Breckenridge ski resorts will break the $100 mark for the first time.

Single-day lift tickets for Vail and Beaver Creek between Dec. 26-31 will be $108, according to the Aspen Times. Tickets will be $102 from Dec. 17-25 and Jan. 1-14.

The newspaper reported that Breckenridge will charge a peak window rate of $104 during the holidays, while Keystone will charge $99

Aspen is already charging its highest price of the season, $99, according to the paper. The Aspen Skiing Company charged $96 for single-day lift tickets during the peak season last year.

Do you fucking morons expect skiing AT VAIL DURING PEAK FUCKING TIMES to be CHEAP? If so, you must literally not know a single fucking thing about business. Skiing is expensive. Get a season pass, and fucking deal with it.

A pass at Big Sky is 1400 if you didnt buy it at the end of last season.... its worth it but thats not much love for the locals

Basically, resort skiing is dead, all the real skiing left in this cold beautiful world is earn your turns back country. The soul of skiing is hidden behind the peak across from your local terrain park. You can hear it howl when the big storms come through there was a time when a season pass was a pair of used twenty dollar skins. Even the real indie resorts aren't with it anymore all they wana do is get therir base developed and expand into lynx habitat. cough. vail.
Go but some skins, before they too get prostituted.

$100 a day for a ticket and i paid $350 for my colorado pass...looks like a pretty damn good deal.

ive been "freekiing" since before kids were wearing tall t's and some kids on here were born i live on the east coast with a mountain that has a vert of less that 600 ft no rails no jumps and no bumps, this was gona be my second time going out west in maybe 10 year becaue my mommy and daddy dont have a slopeide houe we can go to every year and peronally it stinks ive had to use all my food money just so i can ski for 2 days at vail/beaver creek i have to drive 2000 miles both way and can only afford to ski for 2 day becaue of the lift ticket price, so yea i guess im a tourit but could care less about the apre ski sceen

Vail's gotta make money. And dude you must be high cuz vail and beaver creek are two of the best mountains in colorado. The epic pass makes EVERYTHING easier. or become a frickin employee and get a free pass and lunch everyday! the u makin money too.

Your $108 day pass at Vail allows you to ski over 13,000 acres. It is good at vail, beaver creek, breck, keystone and a-basin... thats not too shitty of a deal.

or you could buy an epic pass which is a third the price of the aspen pass and gives you access to over 23,000 skiable acres... how do you complain about this? The aspen pass goes for just over $1800 and all the mountains on it don't stack up to Vail alone's acreage.

for those of you bitching, how do you think they can keep paying for new park features and maintenance? through their season pass holders? no. and if you believe this you are thoroughly retarded. they make money off the gapes that come skiing a few times a year.

...businesses need to make money, and they obviously raised prices because they needed to since the economy is affecting their patronage and therefore probably need to compensate. jesus all anybody does is complain about prices of shit like they're entitled to do everything for cheap...skiing is an expensive sport any way you look at it.

3% of a resorts full price lift ticket is profit. They charge that much because they have to in order to keep stuff maintained and staffed like vail does, remember, vail has over 5000 acres. Thats fucking huge

Also, the average % of people who pay full price over a year at resorts is about 15%. There are crazy deals out there and people use them. I payed about 65$ a day at vail a couple years ago for 4 days. Which I don't mind at all. The terrain is nuts at vail, so much fun on a pow day

I understand your point, as a majority of the purchasers of these tickets probably fit this description. But I am from the East Coast, and when I go out West, its to ski. Not to chill in some 5-star Vail resort with a wet bar and a jacuzzi in the bathroom. So for people like me, who really appreciate the skiing that is located out West and make a sort of pilgrimage out of it, it sucks! Being in college, these are really the only dates where I could for sure travel. Now I am not going out to Vail or anything during these dates, but during my spring break I'll be heading out to Utah. It would suck having to pay a premium just because I went there on a date that was just too convenient to not charge exorbitant prices, you know?

I mean, don't get me wrong. I am a capitalist, through and through, and the laws of supply and demand would dictate a higher price. All I am trying to say is not everybody who comes there is only skiing 4 days a year. Some of us appreciate what the West has to offer and spend a lot just to get there and enjoy it.

I feel your college broke out west pilgrimage style pain...but honestly there's a real easy solution to your problem. plan ahead and buy a season pass when they're on the cheap. you don't even need to lock in any dates...just get your pass before the cut off and then you're good for the whole season so whenever you get there...its one less thing to worry about. if you are fine with just abay breck and key it's really affordable compared to like a 4 or 5 day ticket. it's pretty much what everyone I know in your exact situation does...either that or use someone elses pass...which of course is illegal.

If they don't want to pay 100 dollars for a ticket they can go elsewhere. Will i pay it? No. But I certainly do not have a problem with them charging whatever they like. Its not like there aren't options for them to ski elsewhere.

Those high lift tickets keep my season pass cheap, I could care less.  It's good, we have way too many tourists in Summit County.

quit complaining and buy an epic pass. vail, beaver creek, keystone, breckenridge, a-basin, heavenly, sierra and northstar; all on the one pass. I mean that's a pretty fucking good deal. $679 full price and even cheaper when you buy it pre-season.

quit your bitching you get to ski epic amounts of westcoast powder/terrain for your money. out here on the east coast our peak season tickets are like 20 bucks cheaper than yours (76$ last season) and our vertical is about 1/8th of what your working with.

But it's definitley bullshit all around, I can go ski at alta and pay a fraction of the cost I'd pay to ski some shitty 30 second runs at sunday river. it blows. lyfe is HARD.

It cost £45 for 4 hours in one of the indoor slopes in England which are only around 150m long....

that's about $80 for only four hours.... At least in vail you get proper snow and awesome terrain!
