I've been using pcsx2 for mac lately to play some old PS2 games like SSX on Tour which is a laugh. There's plenty of tutorials and download links for games and the such on youtube as well.

if you use pandora, pandorajam will download your music as you listen to it, and add it to itunes with artwork and all the correct info

if steam still has a free download you can get portal for free

Also, Left 4 Dead 2 is really fun (also not free.)

You should also download Handbrake and VLC Media Player, so that you can use handbrake to rip your ski movies to iTunes. This lets you watch them anytime you want on your iPod. Good call. Both are free, and you'll need both to be able to rip copy-protected DVDs- Handbrake sends it to VLC for decoding to avoid legal problems.

Get Adobe Reader (SO much better than Preview, and its free)
Get Firefox (if you haven't already)

yeah i've already got VLC and handbrake. and i tried getting the psx2 or whatever and i couldn't figure it out, but i might try again some other time.
