definitely a good rider, specially for 15 but there wasn't anything too tech or difficult in that edit.

Looking pretty damn fast and smooth esp for being 15.  Only critique I have is the black shading around the sides.  Don't know what you used to do this but its a bit heavy and distracting IMO.  Other than that, good work!

yeah, unfortunately I didn't film at any races and/or better bike parks. the 2nd half is as tech as 7 springs gets.. haha.

And yeah, the vignette (black shading) looked a lot less drastic in iMovie. oh well.

smooth, good jump style, good line choice, strong through the turns... for a DH promo of someone your age that's about as good as you're going to get really. to really separate you from other riders like you, have some good race results to show to sponsors as well as the video. the video just shows that you can def. ride DH, the results will show them how fast you can race DH.

solid showing, laddiebuck. Just makes me want to get back on the bike after 2 years off- hopefully this spring at Highlands. Good flow, but try to include some techier rock gardens or steeps.

grew up in NH, actually volunteered at highlands their first year open, rode there for the first time since then this past summer... ride NEK once/twice a year for the past god knows how long, moved out to utah a few years back and now ride pc, moab, green river and wherever else.

go back to 3:05 and watch that again. having seen and ridden that section, the camera doesn't do the steepness and technicality of that garden much justice. quite gnarly.

Pretty nice man. It would be nice to see a little more jumps and drops thrown in there to help break it up a bit, unless you really like to focus on racing, then nevermind. But overall pretty sweet edit.

Dude, you were fuckin pinnin' it for a 15year old. As skiierman said, you simply need to get some race results down and you could land a couple of sponsors. Some of those rock garden really did look gnarly as hell! Keep on riding bro.

If you're trying to be a racer, the best thing you can do is join up with a race team.  You'll get hookups on bikes/gear, and meet tons of cool fast people to ride with. 

Lots of shops and schools have their own dh teams.

Once you start thinking about college (if you choose to), most of the colleges have really good programs.  In colorado, CSU, CU, Fort Lewis, and Western all have teams.  rmccc.org

first of all, by "most colleges", you only mentioned colleges in colorado, where biking is huge. secondly, all those schools have cross country teams and road biking teams, not downhill teams. they might have DH clubs or something, but they don't have uni sponsored DH teams.

ya, all i can speak for is colorado colleges. 

but, the downhill teams are a part of the roadie/xc teams.  what usually happens is the dher's go off and do their own thing, but are still a part of the main team.  in that, they get the same "sponsorship" and benefits.  shit, i even got a scholarship for dhing at csu.

what? that's dope, how long ago was that? i go to CSU and i've talked to some of the XC/road riders specifically about that and they knew nothing of DH racing or anyone on their team doing it.

I love riding MTB, i wish i had a soft tail to shred the tech stuff like that.


Also, tell 7 springs to have a dirtbike race, those trails were priiiiiimeee

it was a few years ago, but i know it's still happening.

The team is ramscycling.  They race the rocky mountain collegiate conference; where pretty much every race includes a dh, ds, or even a super d. 

It was seriously one of the coolest parts of my college experience. 

As for the actual team, there's a lot of animosity between the roadies/xc guys and the dhers.  Just go to the first meeting, meet the other dhers and you'll be golden.  DH season is aug-nov.

One last thing, the beaver meadows course is sick.  They probably won't be racing it anymore, but find someone who knows it, and go hit it.  oh and check out tynan's if you haven't already.

thanks everyone! I do have a resume, I didn't feel like it was necessary to post on NS.. haha. Yeah, the team thing is definitely the way to go. I have been talking a lot with Christopher Herndon and am unofficially riding for his team GROM Racing for the 2011 season.
Yeah I love my demo sooo much, it literally drained my life savings, but it was well worth it.

the~muffin~man, no I wasn't at nationals, this past year was only my 2nd year riding downhill so I figured I would wait until they are back on the east coast.

skiierman, honestly, do whatever it takes to get a Leatt. it was definitely the best purchase I have ever made. I know it has FOR SURE saved my neck and possibly even life multiple times from both downhill and when I used to race moto. I'm not exaggerating at all.

I just got into DH about 2 years ago, and I love it so far. You have great handling skills, line choice, and crazy speed (pretty much all of what I need more of, haha)--keep it up, you should have no problem doing well in races.

With the edit, I might have chosen a different song, maybe something a little faster or more aggressive...idk. I love "Take a Minute", but I never really thought of it as a DH jam. That's the only thing I would change. sick edit!

There's nothing really that technical in that edit, especially for riding a DH bike. But good line choice and flow. You don't look like you're forcing anything, so that's good. Sponsors care more about how you will represent them as a company than anything, so make sure you get your name out there as a guy who is doing a lot for the sport and is helping others get into racing. I'm in central PA so PM me if you ever want someone to ride with.
