Wow.

I'm speechless. That is the worst display of refereeing incompetence I have ever seen.

The earlier call was worse. The one that caused the power play where calgary scored. If it weren't for that, the game would have never even seemed close.

But, ya you're right, charging? If they called the high stick, I could of understood it

Funny story is how i'm explaining to my gf that penalties rarely get called in playoffs at crucial times. Then, two bad calls, and she's like, 'I thought you said they don't call penalties in playoffs......'

that penalty was sooooo gay, on the replay he takes 2 steps then decks st.louis (who really deserved it for roundin behind the net with his head down) and gets charging, doesnt make sense to me

Actually, worst, in this context, refers to the word 'display', rather than to the entire phrase 'display of incompetence'. It could be read either way, given that the syntax is rather casual. I do, however, agree that it is ambiguous and could easily be read to be incorrect. My bad. I was rather pissed off at the time... and good grammar isn't particularly amenable to discussions of sports, excepting cricket, badminton, polo, and other such sissy games.

Well it coulda been called a boarding call, but in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals, in the last minute, there is no fucking way they should have called that.

That being said, the Flames choked. That was the worst game they've played all playoffs.

Actually Tampa Bay is a good team, its the city of Tampa Bay that doesen't deserve a team. With a smaller population than Québec city and a huge net loss every year, its only because it's in the U.S that it still exists. I mean, Florida??? Hockey??? A 600.000 people city? Whereas the Nordiques were the best team in the league, made money, had a bigger population, and there is real interest up here. I don't believe it.

thats funny you bring that up...becasue wasnt the number of canadians on each time like 15 one one and 17 on another (i heard those were the numbers, correct me if i am wrong)...so if you are carring a full 4 lines and 2 goalies that 22 guys a team. 15 outta 22 and 17 outta 22 are quite a large portion of the team (72% total). so it was mostly canadians playing anyways.

and yes, calgary did choke. after the first 10 minutes i knew they would lose becasue they couldnt even get it outta their end on a powerplay

the US dollars are taking the teams there. thats why in recent years we have lost quite a few of the canadian teams, we cant compete with the dollar when it comes to the actually arena. im pretty sure that the canadian arena's are at the top of the list in how much they have to pay in taxes and such while some US cities are exempt
