Those numbers indicate how much force it will take for the binding to release. The numbers on the toe piece and heel piece should be the same. I would take them back to the shop, don't adjust bindings yourself.

WRONG.
Having a different setting for toe and heel is normal. It could be the way your binding tested out. just because you set it to a certain value, doesnt mean its going to release where its supposed to. Or some people just prefer a higher setting in the heel. I have my toes set and 11.5, and the heel at 13. This is normal.

Unless they are wildly out of sync, like 3 and 7, you should be fine. Post your height weight and boot size, and the numbers, and we can help you out.

Did you have it adjusted recently? 4 is definitely too low. Take it back to the shop and have them adj it.

At Skier Type II, you should be a 6.

more like a 7, maybe an eight. I'm an expert skier, 130lbs 5'8 and a bit 315 bls. My din is a 6.

There is no "more like a 7" At type 2, he IS a 6. There's no maybe on the chart.

Read the stickied thread about bindings.
Go to a shop. Ask them. You're taking advice from strangers about devices that can break your knees.
