Waxing set up

im tired of taking my skis to the shop, what do i need get a tuning set up in my garage and anyone have suggestions on what i should buy i.e. what companies, whats cheapest

waxing iron

is that all for tuning? and post suggestions plz

I bought the dakine super tune. Cost me 100$, but i live in canada. So you might find some cheaper if you re from usa. Btw i like it , just buy other wax, because the one come whit the kit is not good.

for waxing the basic essentials are wax, an iron, scrapers, and some kind of brush, check out http://www.artechski.com/ for all kinds of shit for waxing and tuning

the bare minimum is an iron, wax, scraper, and nylon brush (its the white bristles usually)
but a vice is handy unless you rigged something up and if you want to do edges you need a file, bevelar, and ice breaker. The bevelar does the angle of your edges (controls how much grip your ski will give when sharp) and the ice breaker actually sharpens your edges. Also a gummy stone is good to clean your edges up when you are done but its only a few bucks.

the bevel and ice breaker are kinda expensive things to get if you dont need sharp edges. you dont want sharp edges for park skis that you're gonna hit rails on and its unnecessary for powder skis. if you do want your edges sharp then its a worthy investment.

for your first set up i would recommend you go support your local shop and buy an iron, scraper, nylon brush and two different specific temp waxes. and a gummy stone to deburr your edges
