Well this is my reply,

I was taking my time to see if anyone was going to step it up and try to defend us . And that hasnt happend. So its a defeat again. But I would still like to explain myself,

Yesterday I received a really sad phone call. Because of this thread and all the hate on Girls on Skis, one of my athletes decided she didn't want the bad publicity and pulled away from the team. Things have really gotten out of hand yet again. I think I was pretty clear with the purpose of this thread, maybe I wasn't, and I apologize for not being more clear. I wanted to know what we should change for 2011 in order to get more recognition and more help. I didnt ask any coments about the video. I didnt ask for Jackies approval on posting the video and that is my mistake, it was originally posted on Ahmet Dadalis wall on facebook and I thought she did some amazing tricks in there and I just wanted to hype up her talent. I was no way looking for comments about the quality of the video. Again I'll say it, I am not a professional. I continue to learn everyday.

After a raging 3 page of hate on Girls on skis , I think its pretty clear that you guys dont like what we do and unfortunetly you are the ones that keep us alive.

At first, In my head, it was an amazing project. Girls finally had some support. I was facing a lot of hate, but I still managed to put some smiles on some girls faces, and faith in their hearts that they were finally getting the support they needed to make it in this sport. Of course people were going to hate on the videos but I didnt care because finally someone was going to film the girls and I think that they deserved it. I am not a videographer but I think I have improved a lot since last year and I had a lot of fun producing the videos aswell.

This year, I won an award for that project. Finally my work payed off and I had some really good coments coming from legit based people in the industry. I also met a really special person, Riley Poor. He made me realise that I was doing wonderful stuff despite having my serious health issue. ( don't wanna go into details)

Since my post about the award. People started to attack personally, I have been receiving prank calls, and even photos on my phone, coming from anonymous numbers.

I dont think I ever tried to do anything wrong , the criticism is always good, but not the hate. It has gotten way out of proportion.

I am really questioning if I should stop all this and remove myself from the ski industry. I am also questioning if you guys really wanna help womens skiing because I didnt see anyone stepping it up or even wanting to help just a little.

So on this really sad thursday December 16th 2010, I am officially putting Girls on skis on hold.

I cant work full time on this and get bashed on. Maybe people will realise how much we have done and the place we take when we will be gone. This also is very sad because by doing this, I am abandonning some really good athletes that deserved to be helped.
I hope this opens your eyes on the weight that your comment have on the chances we have and the girls have to make it in this ski world.
I am really thankfull to everyone that has helped in any way for the last year and a half . To all the resorts and sponsors that has supported us. I am sorry to say this project has been a failure and I will take this time off to make some changes and come back with something better. Keep the cause and the dream alive, in the end its just skiing. All the girls on skis should keep ripping and pushing the sport in whatever way they can. No limits.

You really didn't get hated on that bad. You can't take that shit to heart. Believe me I can relate. Not a day goes by when I don't hear some "oven" joke in my direction(I'm Jewish), you just have to get over yourself and keep on keepin' on. The truth is, girls skiing is catching up to boys skiing, and just like boys not all girl skiers are going to be that good. Just because you're a girl doesn't mean you deserve to be sponsored despite having mediocre skills. That being said, Jackie is fucking good and definitely deserves publicity.

man people harassing you on your phone? that's kinda fucked up. its not surprising to see hate online and yeah you do gotta ignore it but if it gets to the point of affecting your personal life, i don't blame you for putting it on hold. sucks to see because although i never really enjoyed the edits, that doesn't mean they won't get better one day and turn into something that is awesome to watch. hell its like everyone forgot that even the best of the best started out from the bottom.

well said. it's one thing to criticize the company, but it's really low to personally attack someone. shitty you have to deal with that.

like someone else said though, you gotta get used to criticism, especially with a company where everything you do is going to be public, with riders competing, edits and a website. it takes a while to learn to not take things personally, but it'll be for the best for your company. good luck

gab Iv told you personaly tonnes of times to look at yourself a bit. I think it would be time for you to do that. the bad cred girls on skis gets is from acting un professional.

what to do for this season. Dont answer ANY negative posts, just have fun skiing with the girls and dont over hype.

So far i haven't spoken my mind on the project as a whole. If you post your videos in the video section instead of highlighting them in ski gabber and making a big thread or whatever then less hate will poor in. When you post an edit in ski gabber it better be mind blowing. So far you haven't done that for me at least. Once your editing/filming/skiing are really impressive thats when threadmaking will become acceptable. Shit is too overhyped. I hope this was as constructive as possible. Not trying to hate but i do kinda hate how its been done so far.

Don't worry about over hyping yourself, people post there own shit all the time, especially if they are fairly well know. 

People are going to hate, thats what a large part of the NS base is.  My crew started out on here and we got bashed so hard for doing new shit and trying to push the limits we quit.(posting)  Not because we are a bunch of bitches, but because we thought NS enjoyed it.  It just kinda got not exciting because of that, since it was no fun we looked for different avenues.  There are actually some great places to go through that have professional if you look for it.  Because you are doing something different these kids aren't going to jump the band wagon, they just want the same shit.  Why do you htink people like Evans vids so much? generic tricks in generic places, thats whats cool. not the fore front, but the center of the scene.

We started selling shots to companies local and international that were more involved in our specific direction, it has worked out great because now instead of hate, we get grants to go on trips and do what we wanted to.

Find companies that support you and work through them and if you post on NS remember most are a bunch of pre-pubecent geeks anyway that should influence what you want to do.

Stop giving a fuck what other people think and just ski...is it not why you started is because you wanted to ski? All of these threads make you seem like a company that is more worried about their feelings than their skiing.

That's some hefty claiming right there, but it sounds cool! Where can I see some of these groundbreaking tricks, and shots of them, that you are speaking of? I really want to see what the innovators of our sport are doing right now. And what kind of companies do you sell shots to, and get grants from? I've got my own crew, and we're really looking to get some sponsors, how did you do it?

damn, saying what you think on ns is one thing, but fucking prank calls and shit? thats actually trying to do harm. anything i may have said about the video you posted in nsg was my honest opinion. i was not meaning to hate at all. you asked my opinion and i gave it, though it wasnt on exactly what you wanted it. giving an opinion is one thing, but hating is another. i think you guys have a decent concept here, but it does need some work. good luck man

very big bummer, i get soo stoked every time I see a girl on the mountain, which recently in pc it hasn't happened as often as I thought it would.  Keep fighting for it, you have the support for all the girls in the industry at least.  Like the other girl said just because girls can't 9 or double doesn't mean we don't love skiing any less than the boys.  Makes me sad that you take ns negative comments that way, it can be harsh but it's something you have to forget, haters opinions don't matter, girls opinions matters in this case.  Thank you for contributing to women's freeskiing, hope to hear from girlsonskis again in the future.

i m gonna tell you why there is so much hate toward girl skiing.

girls who can do a clean 3 and a 5 are usually sponsored and dont pay for any of their shit, while for a boy doing both sw 10 perfectly doesnt even mean you re gonna get free skis.

i m not nearly close to the level of being sponsored, and i dont give a fuck about it, but when i see girls who cant do a 7 try to act like they are pro because they get all their shit free, when i see my friends who are really fucking awesome at skiing and cant make a living out of it, it pisses me off.

i ve seen a swiss girl who would show us her brand new car from her sponsor audi, and be like "oh i did 3rd at the x games " and shit in front of a dude who, at the time, just had been droped from rossi's international team. that was pretty bad. especially since that girl really cant ski and the only reason she had been 3rd is because every body fell.

dont get me wrong i LOVE to shred with girls and i am the most encouraging person ever on the slope. i will never hate somebody who s pushing himself. never.
but a lot of girls i saw during the past years were just cruising around the park being all pro and shit, and never really pushing themself.

Well hello sense of entitlement! Why are you trying to compare the progression of girls freestyle skiing to mens? It's only lately that girls have really gotten into freestyle in larger numbers, so comparing them seems hardly fair or even logical.

And why doesn't the sponsored girls deserve their sponsorship? They are the best at what they do, and provide good exposure to an emerging female market, something that no man, regardless of how good he is, could do. With regards to sponsors, it is simply stupid to try and compare men and women, as they appeal to two relatively different markets.

With regards to the alleged flaunting of sponsorship to someone who had just lost theirs, well that is just a shitty person with a shitty attitude, and doesn't really have to do with her being a girl

I'm not sure this thread is the next step you needed to take. There is so many haters on this site its not even funny. For instance. Every edit we make there is tons of people that hate on dubstep. We brush it off keep going because we love it. a 3 page hate thread? thats like maybe 150 people on this site which has like 100,000 people? thats nothing . and how many of these kids would say it to your face? keep going dont stop theres always gonna be haters.

Couldn't agree more. Having a sister who is also heavily into freeskiing like me is a super fantastic thing. Even better when you share the same group of female friends that all ski. Girls need support, too.

Sure girlsonskis edits aren't completely textbook and perfect, But they are trying pretty damn hard to throw together edits that help contribute to the support that girls freeskiing needs.

Newschoolers is not god, and none of the people's rude comments on your shit matters. Don't look here for publicity. Don't overhype your shit. Don't let yourself slip, first sign of weakness. Post your shit up where it BELONGS (I.E. the video section) and let it play out. Don't let people on some website get you down, take it with a smile and continue on your way just doing your thing. Don't get overworked about some stupid bullshit if you really want to make something for yourself and your freinds then you need to rethink your shit and take some of this advice.

Also, stop making everything so fucking sexist. You promote the inequality when you go around trying to get special treatment. All the male pros made it their because they worked hard to do so. Girls have to work just as hard if they want to make it. Everyone always talks about equality but they want it easier for girls to get things and complain when its not. Reality is real life sucks and is hard. get over it and keep trying. Dont just bitch and moan about getting hate or how its so hard for girls. Take what you will from it and move on.

and lastly fuck girls on skis I want to see animals skiing in the olympics.

Woah there Jack.. girlsonskis is obviously not about just about "getting recognized and getting money" and maybe if you had taken the time to learn what girlsonskis is about, you would know that it is about much more than money and recognition. She is also not trying to make anyone love her or the girls that ski with her. Just because people post a video of them skiing doesn't mean they are trying to the whole world to love them, thats common sense. People post edits of themselves on ns daily, and no one goes and tells them that they are trying to hard to get people to love them. You're really being a hater Jack, not cool.

I haven't seen the thread or video that you posted here, but I will say that I really admire and endorse the girlsonskis organisation. I showed a few girl skiers I know who were interested in park skiing the Girlsonskis website and videos last season, and they were encouraged to start freestyle by seeing there was a group entirely dedicated to female skiing talent. After seeing near instantaneous positive effects from your work, I think you need to keep an organization of some sort going. It seems like you have so much energy and love for the sport that even if Girlsonskis has failed (which I don't think a hateful thread in cyberspace warrants), you will, as you suggest come back with something even better. I sincerely hope this is the case.
It seems that, unless it fits into a relatively narrow spectrum of hegemonic expectations, any internet content containing women is invariably torn to pieces, whether it's skiing, art, opinions or anything else. Feedback is often little more than snide remarks, or negative and insulting appraisals of physical appearance or abilities. One has to dismiss mass internet hate as the vented frustrations and bottled up anger of people who don't have the confidence or ability to deal with those feelings in a more constructive way.

the "trying to make us love them" part comes in a package with all the overhyping and threads like these. i liked what girls on skis was doing, but i lost alot of respect for what is becoming more and more like an internet pity party. and the fact that your athlete dropped out cuza bad publicity? thats just straight up bullshit. have some spine, girls! your not simon dumont, so get over the hate and keep skiing
