So scrambling around the internet research cheaper south lake tahoe properties...I am starting to notice numerous cabins, some even previously owned by the USFD, popping up for sale. They are at a very good price, for the location being near Lake Tahoe. Located near rapids, lakes, and streams near Echo lake area. Also rustic in some terms. Appears to be PERFECT small, simple ski living. Throw in a pellet stove or two, other off grid utilities.
What are locals thoughts on these? Practical? Worth it considering you have beach/skiing/outdoors at your front door? Hard to get an honest view of them from behind a computer screen! Hope to visit later this winter.
