Progressing to Big Mountain

I was just watching Focused and relized how much 'jibbers' are skiing big mountain. Last season the hype about 'progressing into big mountain' seemed to have a major influence on alot of park/backcountry oriented skiers this season(movie season).
The point of this thread is that I feel they got kinda got the wrong impression; most of the segments were just quick flashes of lines then some park shots, then a cliff (usually packed down and hiked). Rarely was there any big mountain lines that blew me away, or that incorperated the 'freestyle tricks'. I think its cool that there working on getting there, but I compare watching Tanner Hall skiing down a line to watching Seth Morrison ski in the park; progressive to there skiing ability but not pushing the sport unless there doing freestyle tricks.
Props to everybody pushing Big mtn or whatever there doing, but I was pretty bored watching pollard ski off the side of a cliff I just watched Seth do a backflip over.
Should everybody stick to one disapline? maybe maybe not,but I don't think theres anything wrong with it if you are doing something nobody has ever done doing it.
Keep doing what you love and get incredibly good at it,
period.

i dont care that they are going big mountain, but look at some of shit that they are skiing. Like jp in 1242 heliskiing. It was a nice line that he did, but it wasnt that hard, 2000 vert of 50 degrees or so, not that hard to ski well

i think that skiers are just trying to be more well rounded skiers, and also show that they have 'real' skiing ability although it takes a ton of skill to be a good jibber

jibbers are just starting to explore the big lines. they cant just go right in a ski mindblowing stuff give er a few seasons. but i also disagree with yoiu, CR and Pep have stepped it up so much. Peps big mountain stuff in Focused is so good.

hexum, i dont believe you have any place to talk. you are from the east coast, and i totally respect you, but trust me you would die on anything over 40 degrees. 50 is really steep and a long way to fall when you hook a tip. but those jibbers are giving it their best and i totally respect all their efforts to expand all areas of skiing.

seth is actually pretty good at park, doing a rodeo 7 off of a table is really easy compared to doing it off of a huge cliff. and pollard is a 'jibber' and he can ski real big mountain lines, and cliffs, plus he can do it all switch.
ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed
