If Marijuana is a drug, how the hell is Humboldt state and Santa Cruz not on this list?

And where is Chico State? aka "Party State". It's def more drugged out than a place like Cal or UCI... They ranked western schools weird... Monterey Bay? Barely anyone even goes there... much less does a lot of drugs... There was one big bust on campus last year... big deal. That's not enough to put it in the top 10...

University of Oregon, however... definitely deserves a top 15 spot. I swear Eugene is such a drugfest....



I feel like this list does not account for all the off campus drug use...

Apparently the hardcore drug scene in SLC is pretty heavy too.

I have a few friends who go to westminster and they say its pretty crazy.

I can vouch. Been too some shows in nh. Cops in that state are insane. Marijuana possession is a huge fucking deal. The phish show in manchvegas was a fucking shit show with cops. I somehow avoided getting arrested or ticketed for anything.

i go to UNH, definitely not the druggiest school. the criteria for this list is extremely flawed and the people that created it have no idea what they are talking about. all this shows is that we have a high percentage of drug using students that are getting caught by our WAY overfunded campus police. they have fucking decked out chargers for christs sake! and segways..

Stats are such bullshit. The Daily Beast under-counted Northeastern's student body by more than 7,000 students. Also because Northeastern's campus extends into Roxbury (which is full of low income black kids) so there are many more "on-campus" arrests. It also considered "state wide" marijuana usage, not Northeastern specific. So many bull shit stats.


Got this email from Northeastern the day before we dropped in the rankings... Must have threatened to sue or something.




Many members of our community have raised questions about a recently published ranking by The Daily Beast, a pop culture website. Earlier this week, the site ranked Northeastern as the second “druggiest” campus in the country.
The data and methodology to create this ranking are inaccurate. For example, the number they used for Northeastern’s total enrollment is off by nearly 20,000 students.

In addition, to assess overall drug use and availability on individual campuses, the website relies on data that refers to statewide drug use – not specific to any individual college or university.


Northeastern University takes the health and safety of its students seriously in every aspect of their college life. The university has exemplary programs and policies in place to help any student with a wide range of issues that may negatively impact their health and well-being.

I am at Bryant University and its ranked third...def only for being caught not having druggiest school...
this is what we got from our President:

Dear members of the Bryant community,

We learned yesterday that a website, www.thedailybeast.com, listed the 50 “druggiest” colleges in the nation and that Bryant was ranked third. We immediately researched the methodology used by The Daily Beast and have concluded that it is seriously flawed and unfairly characterizes the University based on the fact that we support the strict enforcement of the drug laws of the State of Rhode Island. In effect, Bryant is penalized because we report all incidents to law enforcement authorities; many institutions do not do so.

Bryant University unequivocably rejects the characterization of The Daily Beast. The ranking is simply untrue, and we are confident that an objective appraisal of the facts will reveal its representations to be without foundation. We intend to seek a formal retraction and apology, and to challenge the publisher in court if necessary. I know that we all take great pride in Bryant University's reputation; when it is maliciously attacked without thought of the consequences we will appropriately respond.

Be assured that we closely monitor student life on our highly residential campus. Bryant University maintains and strictly enforces a policy against the use of illegal drugs to protect our students and the University community. The flawed methodology used by The Daily Beast paints a distorted picture of the true experience of the vast majority of Bryant students.
