Replying to What's your story?

Thought it would be cool to see how skiing has influenced people through the years. So here ya go,

Skiing has come full circle for me I think. from age 8-12 it was just fun. didn't matter what you wore, what conditions were like that day or what skis you were on. Skiing was pure joy.
From 13-15 I started thinking "hey, I'm the shit at this skiing thing" Fashon was god. If you din't have a bandana (same as tall-t back then) hanging from your pants you didn't show your face in the park. we used to drive for hours to get to slopestyles and rail-jams all over the nw and we all thought we would be pro one day.
17-18 were some good years. My brother and I would drive all day to go ski somewhere sick and have no idea where we were going to sleep while we were there. I met so many cool peaple in and around the ski industry during those years and it's crazy to see where so many of them are today.
19-20 sound's like where alot of you guys are at right now. I had to come to grips with the fact that I wasn't going to get paid to ski for the rest of my life. Honestly I was so depressed after the last comp I entered that year I went back to the hotel, sat down on the bed and realized, shit, this isn't even fun anymore. I decided it was time to take a break. And I din't ski for the next 4 years.
24-26 I got married at 23, got a good job and was just living my life. I remember late one night sitting on my couch pretty depressed and deciding to put in a pbp's reasons dvd that my brother had left at my house. I was watching Jp and chris benchetler's part and they were talking about not caring about filmers and just skiing deep pow and swear to god I started to cry. I missed it so much I went out and bought some ep pro's, got 2 season passes and started shredding as much as i could. Now I'm 26, have a steady income, a girl that loves me and I ski 2-3 days every week. I honestly feel just like back when I was 12 years old when skiing was 100% fun. I doubt anyone has even read this far but if you did I just want people to know that the skiing I get to do now, with no comps, no fashon police and no stress, I would't trade for anything. Peace
