For the Last months Girls on skis hasnt been updating anything since we are working on some cool updates and projects for the up coming year.

Its now time for you to speak out and tell us what changes we should make. Constructive critism please!

Also Congratz to Kim Lamarre and Jackie Klind for Rails to Riches this weekend.For the people that were there, Im sure you agree that they gave us a really good show and we will be coming up soon with an edit for you guys to see.

video is kinda stretched... they all looked like midgets lol

but other than that i dont really have any specific comments. to be honest i wasnt excited watching this. the editing was random and mediocre, the song was mediocre. not terribly creative compared to what i have seen out of ns. angles were different and varied but still not exciting...

just because you are all girls editing your own stuff doesn't give you a pass on a shitty product. sounds harsh but if you want people to watch you need to have a better production quality as well as skiing abilities. i guess what i'm saying is that you have to work hard to create something that everyone wants to watch which is equal rights at its finest. don't stop though because everyone is shitty when they first start.

This is true.


As much as you want to document the skiing abilities. You have to be able to present yourself and appeal to the audience. Anyone can kill it and been known for it in person, but people else where won't because it isn't presented in the right way. Hopefully that's clear enough.

I know little about editing, but is it supposed to lag and be choppy? I watched it twice through and it was the same both times.

Congrats though on the recent results!

I find this embarrassing. This has nothing to do with the riders specifically- I think Jackie has great potential- but I don't think this project is the "cure" to make girls skiing on the level that men's skiing is. Sure, exposure is good.....but this isn't good exposure.

You used a song that was used in Traveling Circus.
The filming was crap.
Too many shots of you guys falling.
The vignette was way too intense.
The video is stretched.

If you want the same respect as the boys, you will get the same criticism as the boys.

check out the site, I did. It's set up pretty well. The homepage video (girls on skis)that you have there is a whole lot better than the one posted in this thread. The other three videos are good, not so much the "Colorado" video though, since it's a whole lot of straight airs and riding straight on a box. Don't want to sound like a dick, but my 11 sister can ski straight on a box. I think it's a great idea what you guys are doing. Keep it up.

as for everyone else, check out the site, it seems like more is going to be added, but it's better than judging the whole idea based on one girls edit.

if you really wanted to gain respect and not constantly get bashed every time you post... just stop posting. Post entertaining videos of your crew skiing (not your big house), thats it. Don't hype your shit, don't offer updates on events because chances are someone will cover it better than you.

and if you want to keep your riders you gotta stop dragging girlsonskis' name through the mud . Right now im pretty sure 88% of people think your crew is a joke and the other 12% never heard of you.

I read all the comments before watching the video and all I have to say is you guys are a bunch of dicks. I was expecting to watch gaper show episode 1 and that video wasn't that at all. I bet 50% of you GUYS talking shit couldn't even do most of the tricks she was doing.

The technical aspects of the filming were a little off but that is something that you learn with time. I doubt the first videos anybody made were perfect.

Maybe I am missing something but how did everyone jump on this is the "cure" of women's skiing and they are trying to be equal with guys? Girls skiing isn't the same as guys, just as EVERY single other sport doesn't compete girls against guys. No wonder more girls aren't involved in skiing when you tear them apart like this.

Fuck the haters, keep making videos and keep on improving. Also, don't look to NS for "constructive criticism" as 90% of the people who post, especially in NSG, are insecure 14 year olds.

okay i gotta say something.  my friend just alerted me to this thread, i only read a few comments and i have a few things to say.

1. I made this edit for Jackie because she has been begging me for months to just edit some footage for her and being a good friend I decided I would.
2. I did not film any of this footage of her, her other friends did using a not so good camera.
3. I did not purposely copy this song (I was unaware that Traveling Circus used this song if I had known I would have gladly used a different one, I don't travel around NS looking at every edit to see if I am copying anyone). I am never here on NS because all you people take skiing way to seriously and can't just have fun.
4.  THIS WAS NOT A SERIOUS EDIT, we used a not so good camera, imovie and limited shots and literally threw something together in 20 mins.  Not all of us have loaded parents who can drop crazy money on their kids( ie. 95% of the NS community) on crazy camera equipment and editing software for their mac book pros.
5. This was not supposed to end up on NS, hence why I did not put it on NS. 

all of u need to stop taking this sport so seriously, its ski season go have some fun and stop bitching,
