1. The Contour Has a waterproof case, but I rarely use it. the camera can get wet and not have any issues so don't be fooled. just don't go swimming with it. Oh and go pros aren't bomb proof off a 50 foot cliff into water... tried it and lost the footage and almost ruined the go pro.
2. the contour has better mounting options then the go pro and you don't look like a tellatubby while wearing it. I use the google mount (helmet mount is less shakey), winshield mount (suction cup so legit), xl bike mount (aka pole mount or anything round mount), rotating flush mount (easily change angles on the slopes)
3. you never have recording issues (like the go pro) because you don't push a button you slide it forward to record and it beeps. not just a light on the camera that you can't see on your head.
4. Collin Collins uses one and is the best skier/ filmer I have seen. check his edits "HOUSE" on the contour website.
5. The lens rotates 180 degrees on the camera to allow more angle options while filming. hard to explain until you've used one.
6. It is the only adjustable camera on the market. With using the storyteller software from contour you can change resolution (1080p, 960p, and (2) 720 setting), mic volume, and Lighting (contrast, exposure, and sharpness). You are not just stuck with the overexposed neon brightness of the go Pro, but can adjust to it if you would like. I think this is why most pro filmers are using the contour, but the go pro is more point and shoot friendly.
rant over...
Just filmed a new edit of a shitty day here it is...
