Hoodie Pattern

I am gonna start making hoodies and i was wondering could i just lay out one of my hoddies on butcher paper and trace it add a bit to acount for stiching and play it by ear for the hood? or should i pay for the 10 dollar pattern?

It'll save you some despair to not wing it for the hood and get a pattern. Plus, it'll help with the rest of your hoodie.
