This is quite a long post, so dont bother reply if you dont read it.
I live in New Zealand and have been skiing all my life, fuck, it is my life!! I'm not sponsored or anything but I am trying to progress hard. Three weeks ago I bought one of the first pairs on Armadas in NZ. Armada AR5s. I was stoked to have got a pair seeing as not many people will have them here. These last four days I have been competeting in a rail Jam here in Auckland, a good way to start the season. Even though I was reluctant on railing my brand new Armadas I thought fuck it, I'll be railing them anyway so what the hell...
The comp was sick, I was real comfortable with the rails, a handrail and a sharkfin box (up-drop-down box) pretty easy and small rails but fun.. I did heaps of shit that I had never done before and I was real stoked, the majority of the people were boarders and they got the most response from the crowd.. But I was doin this for myself.. I ended up on TV, a tv show did an article on the RailJam and there was two shots of me,(both on the sharkfin) switch on to switch up and switch on to 270 out...
The next day I was doin the rails again (it was a 5 day comp) and this guy in the crowd called me over. I started talkin to him and he told me he was an Armada representative for NEw Zealand, he said that he had seen me on TV and wanted to check it out, he said I was the first Person in NZ to ride Armadas... Ive never really had any contact to Industry INsiders so I was stoked he was talkin to me. He had a look at my Armadas and saw that the edge was starting to come off the skis, when he saw that he told me that he was goin to replace my skis, that this shoudn't happen to the skis.. He drove me right to the shop that I got the skis from and got them replaced... He also gave me a free Armada cap and some stickers, he was super enthusiastic and invited me to an Armada Slopestyle comp and a ski camp sponsored by Armada... THis guy was real nice and super supportive, I have to give major props to Jason Woolf, the NZ Armada Rep and ofcourse Armada.. I think it is sick Armada sells in such a small country like NZ and how good they treat their customers... I got my skis replaced without me asking (and the ones they were replacing were pretty raped from the rail jam) and I got a free cap.. The dude was also real nice and super enthusiastic..
Again I thank Armada for being such a cool company, you guys rock!!
