im not a jets fan by any means, pats actually, but that didnt look intentional. that guy was set and stretching atleast 10 feet before the runner got there. then the runner tripped over his stretched leg. he didnt move in the way or anything imo

upon watching this video, it's become clear that no fan of any NFL team is entitled to say soccer players go down too easily and fake injury.

Honestly, it wasn't as if it was even a real trip. He stumbled over his foot. In the premier league this wouldn't even be called a foul. (unless of course it was in the box, in stoppage, and a foul would favor man utd)

In the premier league if someone got tripped on the sideline they'd have pull off a coupla rolls, mixed in with some scream of agony and then found out they weren't getting a free kick stand up and walk off, fixing their £1000 haircuts and looking smug about it.

NFL player gunning along the sideline gets tripped when hes not expecting it and gets winded. If you'd played a contact sport you'd understand how easily this can happen. So I repeat. STFU.

...depends on what team you're watching. Your description would be about accurate of man city. And they probably wouldn't lie there looking for a foul, probably just to try to get whoever tripped them sent off, so they'd most likely get up and start yelling at them.

And he may not be expecting it, but he also doesn't have the ball, and is off the field. Maybe a little situational awareness would help him out.

oh, and I have played a contact sport, so I can see how it would happen, I just don't think it was that bad.

Accept for the fact that manchester city has probably the least divers in the premiership? Please name one of the following start XI who is a diver: Barry, De Jong, Yay Toure, Adam Johnson, Milner, Silva, Tevez?
Of the Top 4 they are far and away the most physical and least likely to dive team.

Back to topic, try running full speed and someone gives you a dead leg, it will hurt and you will go down. It was a classless cheap shot and he may lose his job over it. If this was a soccer game there would've been tears, a red card, 20 minutes of injury time, and 10 articles in each paper talking about it.

I was referring to haircuts that cost 1000 quid. For most players, despite being ridiculously rich, thats still expensensive, but for man city players thats nothing. And I've seen silva go down quite easily a number of times, tevez as well, but I think thats more because the man is insane. Man City are not a top 4 team either. Being joint-top of the table in december doesn't make you top 4 overall.

i don't think he should be punished. I thought one of the purposes of having sidelines marked is so that players know to stay within the lines.

After watching the play - 3 things I noticed.


1: Why the fuck was he running back from out of bounds anyways? Learn to stay on the field. Unless you're the ballcarrier and trying to get the ball out of bounds, then you have almost no reason to be out there... especially as far out of bounds as he was... wtf was that...

2: The guy stuck out his knee like 2 inches... it's not like he busted out a fucking clothesline that crossed the field... Why do you run that close to a bunch of people who are outside of the play to begin with? Stupid.

3: a KNEE brought the guy down. This is football, which many Americans try to claim as the toughest sport out there... how the fuck does a brush of the knee bring a guy down... It almost looked like he was taking a dive to get attention.

4: He played dead on the ground for like 10 minutes as if he had been shot... What was he trying to get? a yellow card? a red card? This is American football. Not Italian football...



The whole situations's fucked up, retarded, and straight goofy. I think if they coach gets fired, the player who was 'tripped' (or... brushed by a knee...) should get fired too for actin a fool and being a little bitch...



Bottom line: If an old man on the sideline can bring you down with the touch of a knee, pack your bags and move to fragileville... You dont belong in the NFL

Players get pushed out of bounds all the time. You don't think he should get punished? Yeah the injury could've been a little overplayed but who cares? That was a cheap shot and there's no way around it. It would be one thing for a player on the sidelines to do that but a staff member? That's just dirty and he should definitely be punished.

i didn't see the whole play, but gunners who cover punts get tossed out of bounds all the time. they often get double teamed and shoved around, and it looks like he's coming back inbounds from getting shoved out, perfectly legal.

if the ball was thrown to him after he ran out of bounds like that, they wouldnt have counted it. you arent allowed to run out of bounds then back in bounds and receive a pass.

dude it doesn't matter what they do because if you get tripped up or hit from somewhere you never expect at a time you don't expect, you can get fucked up so easily. most injuries happen when you don't see it coming.

1. Players on special teams routinely get blocked out of bounds and happens very often

2. His knee is obviously outstretched pretty far. See number 1 why he was close to them.

3. How about you run at full sprint, then have your knee run into something when you aren't expecting it.

Maybe he did act, I don't know. I doubt it because there's no penalty that can be drawn from it and acting hurt would never help. Regardless it's completely illegal and classless for that coach (who has admitted to it btw). He should be fired, it's as bad as a fan getting involved in a game.

1. he was out of bounds because he was pushed out on a punt, which happens literally every game. He was not that far out of bounds either, he was in the white box. The box was created to make sure no player or coach gets hurt in cases like these.
2. He got tripped, it takes very little to trip someone when they are not expecting it.
3. way to be redundant.

It was special teams, the Dolphins were punting....he has two guys blocking him while running down the field, and their goal is to push him out of bounds so he can't be the first guy to make contact on the punt returner...learn before you fucking rant.

Im pretty sure you can be the first one to make contact with the returner. you just cant be the first one to make contact with the ball such as downing it or recovering a muffed punt.
