Getting my first pair of POW sticks this year and I cant decide where to mount them. Im getting the JJ's in 185. The factory recommended is 5cm back but I have always ridin true center for all my skis and just cant picture riding that far back. Anyone have any experience with these skis and different mounting points? From what I hear T Hall rides them at 3 back anyone ever do the same? Thanks for any help I cant wait to ride these bad boys.

Unless you are skiing switch 100% of the time. MOUNT AT RECOMMENDED. I skied a pair mounted with Dukes at -7 last year, and they were fine.

Do I need to explain that for you? If you never ski forwards, the suggested mount makes sense, but since no one ever does, you should mount at the suggested line. Its not like they are supposed to be traditional skis, -5 is pretty "newschool"

And by that I mean:
Sidecut, flex, camber, and rocker patterns are all optimized when the skis are mounted at the suggested line. If you mount them forward, your only benefit is swing balance, which is really only an issue of you are an Olympic aerialist. If, on the other hand, you are a regular jack off, or anyone else, you should mount skis at recommended. If you mount at dead center on JJs or anything similar, you compromise the design of the ski, and therefore the skiability. If you want to harness the full potential of the ski, you should not go against the math.
Even if your ski is symmetrical, your weight should be over your forefoot, which is about 3-5cm aft of your midfoot, so technically, you should not even mount symmetrical skis at dead center...

Newsflash. It's impossible to ski switch 100% of the time. That's all.
