Im currently reading a million little pieces for english and i can honestly say it's the best book ive ever read by far. although im not a big reader this book is able to grip me like no other book has. i dont care if it's a true story or not this book kicks ass.

If you're into fantasy and all that, look up "the name of the wind" by patrick Rothfuss.

Lord of the Rings, all 3 are amazing.

Brave New World, as mentioned...is quality.

A lot of great autobiographies out there too. Ever read about JFK? The man was a genuine badass.

1984 is good, but the only problem i have with it is that these days anytime you see someone getting arrested or taken away by police, there's always some idiot who says "pft...1984 in real life." It's come to represent something that isn't at all accurate to what the book is.

Also, if you're willing to get historial...A man on the moon...is one of my favorite books. Read it once, and you know damn near everything there is to know about the space program. Another interesting read is "Hitler's Willing Executioners." But that's more of an academic thing, not something you sit down and read for pleasure. Extremely interesting, nonetheless.

The Catcher in the Rye is a great book as well. I also like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Looking for Alaska, but those are just not for some people.

i think to really enjoy it you have to really relate to charlie.
otherwise youll just think its stupid
its very similar to the catcher in the rye but i really didnt like the catcher because the character of holden pissed me the fuck off

Yeah, I agree with you. I definitely think that a lot of people can relate to him, depending at what point they are in their lives. I read it when I was a freshman in high school, and I was like eh, but then I re-read it this summer and it became one of my favorite books.

Sorry if someone already said this, but Scar Tissue is a really good book it's about Anthony Kiedis the lead singer of the RHCP. Also, A World Lit Only By FIre by William Manchester its boring at points, but some parts are very interesting.

im on my second round through the books now. ive found that while i have a general idea of whats going on from reading them the first time. they still read great, even the second time around. (it has been a couple of years though since i read them the first time)

im also gonna add in there joel Rosenburg The Last Jihad. a little spoiler, he basically wrote a book depicting what was going to happen on 9-11-01 only it was written years before it happened. again super good.

just finished reading Band of Brothers. Its real good. If you watch the tv series first it'll help you remember all of the names because there are tons of people
