Anyways, Three Cups of Tea is really good. Along with Lone Survivor. Two different books on two different issues in Afghanistan.

I just read Night by Elie Wiesel. It's only like 120 pages so you can read through it in a day, but the content in it is just incredible. What he saw and went through is unreal. I highly recommend it.

lol. I will give you credit for Night by Elie Wiesel. Pretty much one of the only books that actually made me cringe about how fucked up the holocaust was.

On Killing is a book that everyone needs to read. Especially those who don't kill people. It would help most of you understand the concept of it better, and help you from sounding like idiots when you talk about it.

The Killer Angles is also a good read.

For those of you who spend a lot of time outdoors I would spend the $10 to get the ranger handbook, lots of good tools inside, even if you don't want to kill people.

Chuck Palahniuk is good, not much of his is better than Fight Club imho.

House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski will chew you up and spit you out, book's a thrill ride.

In Search of Captain Zero is an awesome book if you love surfing, though anyone on here would probably enjoy it.  All the King's Men is a heavier read but also really good.

You think so? I think that based on the global political situation at the time that he wrote 1984, with the start of the Cold War and Communist Russia beginning to broaden it's influence over the smaller Eastern European states, his idea of the world 40 years later was pretty feasible.

But I hope you're right. I'd prefer to live in Huxley's idea of the future over Orwell's to be fair...

the BEST and i mean the absolute best book of all time would be Atlas Shrugged.

if you want to read fiction go for some Vince Flynn. think Jason Bourne only 100 times better. His newest book American Assassin just came out and its really good.

others are anything by John Krankaur (i think) but specifically

OUTLIERS was amazing.... really anyone who enjoys sociology to the point where your mind is blown, read this. I am yet to read his 2 other books.


And anything by Hemingway of course... if you can handle it.
