minidv vs. dig 8

to those who know, is there any diff btwn minidv qual and dig8? i have been told no, but i just wanna check.

^they have the same resolution I believe. Since D8 is cheaper you can get a little bit better camera (lense, features, etc.) for your money. MiniDV is just sweet cause the cameras can be so small.
