I usually just tell em im a boarder or if they have atleast a litle sense in their heads i say im a skiier who does snowboarding tricks.

haha last week some maintenance guys came into my room to fix my window. im in a sling, and theyre like "ouch howd you do that". im like "oh skiing, i fell on a handrail". they go "oh skiing, you mean like snowboarding?"

i said "yeah, exactly. snowboarding, except i had skis on"

some people are clueless.

freestyle skier. simply because that usually leads to them asking 'what does that mean?' then i normally explain how it's like snowboarding with aerials and halfpipe and that kind of thing. they usually get the picture. im happy to discuss things like that with people who are curious. the same conversation tends to come up when people see the twin tips.

i hate having this conversation. i love talking about it, but not when the people who you are talking to have no idea what your talking about. try explaining freeskiing to someone who doesn't even 'normal' ski. they're just waiting for you to stop talking because they have no idea. so i usually just say ski and just let people assume what they want to

I don't really understand the question, what situation would someone assume you are a snowboarder? if you're on the mountain, you are either on skis or wearing ski boots.. the only thing I can think of is if someone overheard you saying "i'm going to _____ this weekend" and they said "to snowboard?" and you responded "no, to ski." durrrrrrr
