Where to mount powder skis?

I have posted other threads about some suggestions on what powder skis to get, now i could use some advice on where people have mounted theirs and if they liked/disliked that position.

I ski a lot of big mountain, so I like a good nose:tail ratio. I got my 189 One Lifes as -2cm back from center I do believe. Love every minute of it.

Depends. Before I got my One Lifes, I had 08/09 Blends. Used them for Big Mountain/All Mountain. I mounted mine again at -2cm from boot center. Loved it as well.

would a true center mount make it perform much worse in powder? (i am wondering about the true center since i also ski a decent amount of park and i need a one ski quiver)

For me, I don't like it. It makes the ski feel shorter. I can't say it will perform worse, because it is all about opinion and riding preferences. If I were to center mount a ski, it'd have to be a long ski, such as a 194 New Life. I'm 6'2" though, and do a lot of big mountain/powder.

Some folks argue that we ski more cement than powder here in the NW and for cement (if now also powder) moving the binding back is recommended by some folks.  I just moved my binding back 2cm and we'll see how it does at alpy tomorrow.  I'll let you know.

Dont mount JJs true center. The recommended setting is 5 back, but a lot of the Armada pros mount them at 3 back. My friend did this and absolutley loves his. The ski isnt designed for a true center mount.

I mounted my Atomic Bent Chetlers 2,5 cm back from center, and they ride absolutely amazing.

Hellbents are +3.5 back

9th rorys were +7 for big mountain but remounted them at +3.5 as well.

People saying true center, its only good if you have a symetrical ski or you purely doing BC jibbing.

Yeah definitely holds true. Dead center powder skis are a gas... but only if its completely symmetrical and you're really committing to wanting to ski switch in pow a whole lot.

Other than that, far better to do a progressive mount. The Pollard mount on line skis is an awesome mix.
