Hard Boot vs Soft Boot

I am in the process of trying to buy a pair of blades and i can not find the difference between a hard boot and a soft boot. What would you guys recommend for someone who hasn't really bladed that much before? Btw, if it helps, i am 5'10" 150 lbs

as with most options for blades, it's preference. I've skated both and decided I like soft boots better. I'm on USD carbons right now. You tell me what you want the skate too feel like and I'll go from there.

Well i am mainly going to be doing rails and stuff, not much jumping or anything. I want something that i am going to be able to skate in for a while and not feel like my foot is going to fall off

I've never had a skate hurt my foot for wearing it for too long, they're not like ski boots (although those shouldn't really do that either). Doing rails and stuff is a critical part of skating but how about this; do you want them flexy or stiff? weight preference? size prefernce?
There's always trusty models to look at like:
Razors aragons 3's or 4's.
USD thrones
People usually always like those. They're all hardboots.

to the other kid, I love my carbons. I've got mooks on there, been skating freestyle since xsjado started. The carbon 2's look really cool, when I run through these I'll see about those.

Well im tryin not to spend too much since im just gettin into it, i know these are low end but which would you get, Razors Cult 8's or 9's? and would either of those be good for what i will be doing

I skated the large shelled xsjados for a bit and I liked them. They're a little big, I would get the small shell ones. But I liked them, they worked with the sneakers I was using but I would imagine they'd work better with the footwraps. The souls are huge, nice flex. Don't buy xsajdos right yet, they're releasing a new mold soon. Actually it might be awhile, not sure. Those switch frames with huge wheels would be awesome for park.

Those cults are good skate, people like them. I don't think there was a major difference between the 8 and 9 so get the 9. What frames do they come with?

i have some USD thrones that i used to ride and i loved them. they are a hard boot. you should look into those
