I want my dog back

Today at 5:33 am EST my dog Birdie was hit by a car, she was instantly killed but the driver sped off quickly with no intention of stopping, I watched the whole thing happen. What compels people to be so heartless? Birdie has been with my family for five years and is single handedly what held my family together when everything was bursting at the seams. She's the one thing I could count on seeing and with out a doubt smiling every time. She was my best friend the one person who didn't walk when I had troubles, the one who would make me feel safe when my extreme anxiety and OCD got the best of me. I've never had a better friend...

bahhhh sorry to hear it. it makes me miss my doggy too, who died last year after a series of heart problems. poor thing. she kept having ceisures (which were initially controllable by medication) and they just got progressively worse over the years until she had a really bad one that essentially paralyzed her and we had to.. you know....

That sounds terrible. My friend's dog got hit, and he just wouldn't talk. Pets = the best of friends.

Hang in there man. That is horrible, but be thankful for your 5 years with Birdie. Dogs are the best. It will get better with time.

Sorry to hear that man, I lost my dog a while back. My mom called me while i was watching zoolander and told me she had put her down. I know how you feel, didn't even get to say goodbye.

damn man i had a dog since i was a little kid and she ended up dying at 12 because of diabetus, worse thing ever man, you will get over it and get a new dog though man.

hey man message me if you want to talk about anything, my baby died last april when we were driving out to a field. she ran in front of my jeep. its tough but you have to stick through it and know your pooch lived a long life and cherish the memories

Sorry to hear that, losing a pet sucks. I don't know how someone can hit a dog and not even stop.

Also, in a way it was probably a blessing she died instantly. I work for a vet and some of the injuries I've seen are absolutely horrific, and you don't want them to be suffering. She likely had no idea what happened and died happy.
