Brady MVP this year: argue

He was at the top of the pack coming into this week, and after his performance last night, it is hard to argue that he isn't still the frontrunner. Manning has dropped off a cliff and disappeared into thin air with 11 interceptions. The only competition at this point is Rivers, and everyone knows how inept he is in big games. The Chargers were just embarrassed by the Raiders, and Rivers had a mediocre game at best. Going with consistency and just plain dominance, Brady will win the MVP. Stats so far:

Completion Percentage: 66.8...leads NFL
TDs: 27...leads NFL
INTs: 4...second place behind Vick's 2. Brady has played a longer season and has thrown the ball over 100 times more than Vick.
QB rating: 109.5...leads NFL

Manning: has about 600 more yards, but look where he is now

15 INTs
24 TDs
QB rating: 89.4


Rivers
24 tds
10 INTs
102.5 QB rating

The NFL.com poll doesn't even have Rivers in the running anymore...right now it is Brady, MJD, Matt Ryan, and Vick. Looking at his numbers, I don't think Vick has a chance...he is just fun to watch.

too bad nobody gives a shit about D2, so nobody cared. He definitely came out of nowhere if you didn't watch hard knocks.

I saw him light it up in the Jets preseason right before he got released. It was awesome. There was a blurb about him in SI when he had his 2700 yard season.

Go ahead. Taking those away won't change the yards and tds average significantly because they're similar to what he does every season, but the ints will because his rookie season was the only time he put up such an atrocious number. That's all I'm saying.

the only other argument is for vick, but vick has missed like 3 or 4 games and that is going to be taken into consideration if he is able to continue to dominate the way he has.

personally im a pats fan and brady is a straight thug, kinda looked like 07 pats last night, watch out NFL, pats are roooooollling right now

yeah vick is like 7-2 in games he's started or something, and he's extremely valuable to his team. MVP is technically the 'most valuable player to his team' and not just 'the best player'. without brady, the pats still have a lot of weapons. without vick, the eagles lose a massive threat outside the pocket and one hell of an accurate arm. not to mention the fact that he runs like a friggin running back, which leaves defenders watching for that all game and opening up the field elsewhere. too sick.

but the final four games are really going to determine it. right now, i give it to brady, but if brady does average and vick has a sick four games (and against all good teams), i can see a serious argument for him..

Vick has to win it. He is without a doubt the most valuable to his team. The Eagles would be nothing without him. Not to mention he's god damned electrifying, ie great for ratings.

ok, i wont calculate it all over, but he will end up with about 2-3 ints more per season as brady (also 2-3 tds more) as brady does with about 200 yds more.

i am just saying this, because most people think of manning "lighting it up" in the reg. season (compared to brady) considering both their career stats, but they dont take into account that brady basically played 4 seasons less.




if manning and brady would end up playing the same amount of effective seasons (they wont though), their career stats will be similar with manning having a edge in tds and yds but brady having the edge in ints.

so the main point for people taking manning over brady isnt that much of an argument. both are playing very well in the regular season.

BUT brady constantly did everything to win in the postseason, whereas manning is not that prolific in big games.




so the only thing manning does better (and is great at, tbh) is dissecting Ds before the snap. he is almost a coach and really good at all these audibles.

but then again, he does the same thing over and over. 1) hard count 2) look who is moving up the line 3) change play/protection 4) snap. the chargers destroyed him because they were the first (from all colts game i watched) to move around almost randomly when he is doing his hard count thingy, thus leaving him unsure about the defensive play called. idk why noone else is doing this more.

Watching a Colts/Ravens game is the worst thing ever.


Manning audibles, Lewis audibles back and forth until the playclock is about to run out, Colts end up getting a 4 yard gain.

I would say Vick has it easier with Jackson, Maclin, McCoy and a way better defense.

whoa pats are for real. maybe they peak too early, but when you look at what they did to the jets, steelers and bears, all supposedly among the top 5 teams in the league, its pretty impressive.

their schedule is very tough and yet they only lost because of a bad second half vs jets and a bad game against the browns (AND some of the non-blowout wins were a lot closer, but every team has close wins).

I'm positive Testicle Paste will find a bitchy way to discount Tom B's performance yesterday.  Right now Tommy B is third on the all-time list for consecutive completions without an INT, and is only like 20 away from the top spot.

as a pat fan i still have to say that he was awfully close yesterday to end that streak a few times.

but i guess all the guys with over 200 atts without an int also had a play or two going their way which shouldve been picked

Yesterday was greasy, I'm not gonna lie I watched it before the Eagles/Cowboys game. He was on fire, no doubt about it. I just don't like the Bears so I was happy someone beat the everliving shit out of their "amazing" defense. Belicheck is either the best coach in existence of coaches ever, or he's filming other teams practice again lol.
