Salomon 1080 Thruster

a friend of mine wants to buy some second hand skies,
hes watching for the salomon 1080 thruster.
anyone have some review?
i searchbarred but didnt work...

I used to ski thrusters and I loved them. They were super light and fun.

those ones? I wanted to get a pair of those as my first set of skis but i ended up never being able to find any. I think they have one of the coolest graphics. other than that I can't really help, sorry.

that is not the answer that we're looking for,

look some milfs are older than the internet but that does not make them any less 'good' :) so these ski's maybe old but are they any good?

i had a pair but i took a tumble & 1 snaped just in front of the bindindg, got another pair on the insurance & the edge craked on a box

I have a friend that used to ski on these. They are quite soft and I believe they are a foam cored ski. He liked them and the durability was good.

I could be wrong, but i believe they have a wood core. foam core skis are extremely un-durable.

The suspects are wood core; before that salomon used what they called an isocell complex core which is a fancy word for foam core.

All 4 underfoot edges ripped out, thank god I got Alpha 2s....

but when I had them they were fun and light skis

Up till the end of last season I was using these skis (bindings initially at factory and then re-mounted at center) and they were still going strong. No significant damage whatsoever. The topsheet scratches/chips a little bit, but not too much. But then again, I had never used them much for urban or too many rails (mostly just jumps, boxes and groomers).

I never really bothered to try many other park skis, so I can't give you that great of a comparison of its performance. I never really had any complaints with them.

I've finally bought a new pair of skis, so I'll be putting the thrusters through a bit more punishment now that they are my secondary pair.

Yea, these were my first pair of skis.  I would say they are decent, especially for just beginning.  They lasted for me for two years before I got new skis, and I still kinda use them for summer and urban.  It does have a foam core, which is said to deteriorate over the years, however they have held up pretty well for me.  They are pretty stiff, but they do have quite a bit of pop.  I've noticed though that the bases scratch pretty easily, and I had a little bit of edge ripped out, but thats probably cause I've used them for more then two years.

I had them for my first ski after snoboarding so i didnt know much but they were nice. they're just chillen in my basement size 151 if your friends interested
