No matter how much you suck you can still have fun. There are not many other sports like that. Everyone from a begginer to an expert can go out and have a good time and that is what everything should be like.

This entire sentiment has been lost as time has wore onward.

Kids today need to forget how tall their tee's are, how steezy their new FT's look, and if they have those dope fresh new goggles. Take a look around. Look at those gapers you make fun of. Look at the families with the dad and mom taking their kids around. All of these people are STOKED on life and snow. Theyre so happy to be out in the mountains, under the soft falling snow, with people they love, and stress free fun in front of them.

Snow sports will and should always be about those moments that make you laugh so hard you don't know what to do, smile so big you can't stop til it hurts, and yell in absolute happiness. Those "gapers" (the ones that provide most of the money for the industry) are having more fun than you ever will til you realize it's not about looking sick 24/7, but doing anything and everything to have the most fun you can.

Try to remember this everytime you see someone learning to ride. They're having fun, trying something new, and they don't care they're falling on their ass all the time. They're snowboarding, and that's all that matters.

Word. I had so much fun this past weekend at Sugarbush, skied one day with some friends, skied the other alone. I rode the lift with so many local rippers that were just stoked on skiing and even stoked on me! Sure I was wearing tall tees and large outerwear, but I was still having fun. Everyone that I saw was having the time of their lives. Sure there was ice, the guns were hustling, you had to take the lift down, but not a single person complained. That is what skiing is about.

I am looking forward to this season so much. If anyone wants to ski anywhere, I am down for taking trips and going where-ever (new england primarily haha).

Yeah! It's all good fun! I'm sure those kids with the tall tees and the fts are having fun too! YAY!!!!!! Be thankful for those days when you can strap on some planks and fly down slippery slopes and allow all your worries to just fly away!!!! I LOVE SKIING!!!!!!!!!!!!

I seem to have the most fun at the place I first learned, Falcon Ridge. Maybe it's because I remember how much fun I had the first time I was there, maybe it's the promise of the fact that it's the only place in Manitoba cliff drops exist, but really I think it's because of the warm cabin like atmosphere, the always short lift lines, and the one place I can try to imagine what skiing powder is like.

I never get the same feeling when I ski Springhill; maybe occaisionally, but I have to be surrounded by my friends. I'm going there over Christmas, and I plan on building the best Manitoban backcountry jump I can.

Partially true, but I feel the whole point of this thread is to not really judge, and just love it all. So if people enjoy buying goggles and tall Tee's and looking "sick" in them... thats cool, let them do it. If you wear a one peice suit thats cool too. It really doesn't matter. But in the same way you don't want them to hate on gapers you shouldn't hate on kids who dress "thug" even if it can be silly. And I don't mean to hate on you for that opinion because you are mostly correct.

skiing alone can be fun too, but i feel like we shouldn't ever have to do it. sometimes you want to but you' think with newchoolers you'd be able to find someone to ski with all the time.

hate to say it, but this isnt always true...I love skiing, its my passion, but my dad, well he is so scared that he is going to fall over and hurt himself that he just cannot enjoy it...kinda sucks becuase he never wants to go skiing..
