Guessing on tests

I'm a pretty good student and have never guessed on a test before let alone a unit test but my friend did and it turns out that he was pretty lucky. It was a grade twelve unit test and he really doesn't care too much about the class. He already knows that he's probably going to fail so when I told him that our trig test was today he randomly guessed, put "1" for all the numerical responses but the one he knew (there were four and he got two of them right) and finished in ten minutes. When he got the test back on Friday he ended up with a 60% which I thought was amazing for just guessing. He almost beat the class average on the test which was 67% haha. Has something like this ever happened to any of you or someone that you know?

There was a kid in my 8th grade class who made a smiley on a chemistry scantron test and got like an 85 or something. It was one of the 25 question per side ones. I thought that was pretty ridiculous.

1st semester philosophy, I forgot to cram before the test and got surprised by the test. I bullshitted every answer, half answered questions and educated guesses. I got an 80.

i make educated guesses sometimes if i have no clue. also, in my school we don't strait up copy each other's work but, just about everyone has had significant amounts of help from other kids on various stuff.

Nice I kinda did the same thing on my chem 20 final last year. I studied the morning of the test and got 79. I can't really call it guessing though because I was pretty confident about most of them.

I did the same thing in one of my college calc classes. I guessed on every question and got a 45%. The class average was a 55 and one of my friends who tried got a 40. I was also drinking heavily before the test

On my SAT's back when Obama was running, I made sure the first line on the essay part spelt out Obama going down the page. The essay was complete shit, and only two paragraphs, because I was more worried about getting the margin to read OBAMA. I figured one of two things would happen. The grader would like obama and give me a good grade, or the opposite. I got a 9 out 12(maybe 10?)

Not quite guessing but just retardationium at its finest

Oh I always guess in calc. GypsyAlex gets the credit here. He told me when in doubt confuse the grader. So when I don't know what to do, I use a lot of various formulas. There's no way my professor can grade all 150 exams and really look at everything in 3 days. So, I'm sitting on probably a A- in the class and I have no idea about some stuff

my math teacher graduated from my school in 1979 so he always sets up answers to be like 1979.3815762983 so if you put 79 or 1979 he always gives half or sometimes full credit

From what I've heard a whole lot is that when you have no idea what the answer is you should choose C. I guess statistically teachers put more C's on tests than any other answers.

Orals were the best!

I once had like 2 minutes planned for a 5 min presentation, so I did an activity. I instructed the class to get a sheet of paper. Then had them write something on it. Then fold it. Then write. Then fold, etc. After a few times it was a paper airplane and I have everyone throw it at the same time at the teacher.

Got a 100.

the worst is when you're allowed to leave a multiple choice answer blank to receive 1/2 the marks (usually with a maximum number of blank questions). that shit really fucks with your head. when you think you know the answer to a question but then start to think 'should i leave it blank and guarantee myself .5 or should i go for the full mark since im pretty sure thats the answer'

some profs can be so cruel..

on my sci exam in grd 10. there was multi choice the 2nd column (about 20Qs) were all B some kid guessed all A and failed....
doesnt rly happen here.

its more of guess then check ur answer with the person next to u.

I am taking a creative writing/short fiction class. We had an essay test on the stories we had read throughout the semester. Well I didn't have the money/didn't care enough to buy the book so I had not read any of the stories. Using the little bit of information I gathered barely paying attention in class combined with sophisticated vocabulary I managed to get an A on the test. I also getting an A in the class somehow. Win? I believe so.

when I was in middle school, one of the teachers made all the answers on a test A and everyone did bad cause they were like "they can't all be A". n00bs.

Got 86% on a Physics unit final, guessed every single question. The test was supposed to take a minimum of 2 hours... I finished in 10 minutes. My stokage level was through the roof

Rambled on for 20 minutes about climate graphs and cooling periods, showed some slides, showed a youtube clip, got a 91.

Latin final: It was matching colum and I put them in alphabetical order. that being:

1-a
2-b
3-c

and so on. I was one of three people in the class that got that whole part right. I only knew like 4 of actual answers

i walked into english in 10th grade and the teacher told me we had a vocab test that day that i'd completely forgotten about. 30 word test. i said give me 10 minutes. he was up for the challenge so i borrowed a kid's notecards, learned the words in 10 minutes, and got one question wrong on the entire test.

Every week we have a vocab quiz. At the beginning it was 10 words, then the next week it was 20 so on and so forth.




Well we had an 80 word quiz, I got 3 wrong.


AND I DIDN'T STUDY.

My freshman (HS) Bio teacher had a deal that if you could get 0% on his final, he would give you an A+ in the class regardless of your current grade.

This was because in order to get every single question wrong, he figured, you had to know the right answer.




One kid in my class got a 1/150. Too bad, he went from a C+ to an F--

last year i went to my sociology class after smokin a bowl. turns out we had a unit test that day. So i just went at it, throwing answers out like fuck using my stoner reasoning. i finished well before the rest of the class and I set the fucking curve on that test! no joke, i never even bothered studying for that class either. super legit.

I usually guess some answers that I don´t know and there is know way I could know. But if someone needs this advice, I´ve heard that if you are going to guess and you use the same letter to all the answer there are more probabilities to have them right.

I tried that, turned it in as soon as he handed it out. He told me to go answer all the questions. I decided not to get a 1/150 and ended up with a 103 % after he truncated it. (there were some pretty fucking stupid kids in the class)

I have answered about 10 five mark questions on unit exams by drawing a picture of something like a duck or a dog, i rarely do so because it is a risky move, but if i have absolutely no idea on a question, i say fuck it and draw the ffffffuuuuuuuu meme on my test so whoever marks it is like OMG LOLOLOLOL why would this dipshit do that???

In highschool, using big words and relevant vocab goes a long way. There was an essay format question at the end of a social studies test I didn't study for and didn't even know was happening, and I bullshitted my way to 10/10. I don't listen to fuck all in that class because the teacher is a douchebag, but I managed to git er done. I've done the whole "draw a whale" thing and it always just has a fat 0 beside it, but the teachers get a kick out of it
