Ideas for a summer rail?

I need some suggestions for setting up my summer rail. I already have the rail, its a simple metal rail nailed to some plywood that only stands about 2 ft off the ground, but I need some ideas for inruns, etc. I live in the middle of nowhere so there are no icerinks around, and I don't have any access to any special material or anything. BUT I do have lots of pairs of old crappy skis, any ideas? Can I use wet dirt or soaped up grass?
