Ouch! ive had that happen, brutal, broke my nose and lower jaw, not to mention the deep cuts. fuck icy thick branches. full face mask is the way to go!

yeah just caught a little piece of a log sticking out. It knocked one of my skis off and then I lost control and went face first into the tree after picking up speed.
