By the way y'all... TBAGGER is either your "only cared about the movies" jim mangan or your pipe cutter extrodinare tyson, who introduces himself as tbag.  so, you decide.  both people weren't there for the build on the jump as well so continue making yourself look like an ass when a hand shape and then laying on the cord works just fine.  case in point, look at the big ass cat divot in the jump for the large quarter pipe feature a few springs ago because it was rushed and no one cared that there was a big ass track hole in the left side of the jump.  but now i'm off track.

lets be serious for a minute here. hand shaping a take off before you drop a 3-4000 pound tiller, that cuts 5-6 inches into the snow pack at somewhere around 1000 to 1500 revolutions per minute... not to mention the 16,000 lb weight of the cat. a rake and a shovel dont really cut it.

Occasionally a jump can be finish worked with a rake afterwords to pimp out any imperfections, but there is certainly an order of operations. Jon's jump was way steep so its not exactly a good representation of something that commonly occurs. And when you move enough snow, it always turns to sugar, regardless of what kind of snow it is, be it man made or fresh. Soft snow back blades better than hard snow. no contest. thats why you track over bullet proof take offs and landings before pushing em.

I will say though, bomb holes in landings are pretty much inevitable when you have 5000 people a day hitting the same 30 features. Its snow, not ice, and everyone complains about ice too. Dont always assume there is something wrong with the crew maintaining the features just because they arent perfect, the medium isnt consistent, like concrete or wood. Which in all fairness, if they saw as much abuse daily as the parks at pc, theyd be in shit shape too.

just my piece, no hating, just tryin to keep the peace. hope everyone is enjoying the parks because i know a lot of people working incredibly hard with the goal of making it the most fun it can possibly be for all the park fiends out there.

They hand shaped the take off before hitting it and re-tilled/ groomed the landing. Stop making the guy out to be an idiot by arguing semantics. It's quite obvious that anybody with a brain wouldn't till a jump after spending half a day with a shovel on it.......
