GoPro Memory Card Problem: +++K/Sexual Favors

I recently purchased a GoPro Hero Helmet Camera and I have a bit of a Problem
When I don't have my 2GB SD car in it it works fine, but when I do put the SD card in, it turns off.
It is the right direction, so what is wrong?
Do I need the Memory card in it?
How long does it shoot without a 2GB Memory card?

i have no idea why its shutting off. that has never happend to mine before. you need a memory card to film or take a picture of anything. there is no internal memory built in, therefore you cant record without one.

not sure if this is the same reason, but mine would be working fine, and then as soon as we get on the mountain it shuts off, we turn it on, blinks red once and then shuts off again. does that the whole day.

Make sure the lock isn't switched on on the SD card?

is it the HD hero? if not, what are you using for batteries?

I think i might return it and get a new one from my store
Now it wont turn on at all and I am using Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries that I purchased yesterday
