i have a terrible and unrealistic fear of needles. ill be getting an iv so im not looking forward to that. any tricks for getting over it? just the thought of needles under my skin makes me sick. id rather be punched in the face
IV needles are much smaller in diameter then regular ones you won't even feel it go in (thats what she said) just dont tense up and when you wake up its the craziest high feeling ever you will text people things in ways you have never imagined. I sent a girl a message like this ";ajsbdagspfiuaw;kfhapsidub;asiufg" and dont even remember doing it.
i dont remember shit all from the day i got my teeth out
if youre afraid of needles, no fear because all i remember was sitting in the chair, talking to the surgeon, then nothing.... then getting helped into the car by my mom, then nothing... then some shit the next day when i was playing age of empires, enjoying my percocets.
i loved it. legit, i wish i got them out in 2 operations instead of all at once.
Getting my wisdom teeth pulled was seriously some of the most fun i've had. didn't hurt at all, and they give you some good stuff afterward and during. tell them to turn up the gas because you don't feel any different. even if you do. then enjoy your week of fun!
Here's me after getting 4 of them ripped.

That was yesterday (Friday, Dec 3)
I don't remember saying any of that, at all.
All I remember is that before I went under, the surgeon told me he was going to give me something to make me feel good. And he damn well did that. I think it was fentanyl or propafol and for about 30 seconds I felt like I was fucking on top of the world and floating around on my own goddamned nimbus.
Afterwards, I dreamed about David Bowie and I doing some mad ass shit.
It's now day two. I'm hopped up on Vike and don't feel shit. Yesterday was the same story. It's basically been chilling on the couch with my girl, playing starcraft two, eating yogurt, and taking vike.
That's it.
It's really not as bad as people say it is. It's a free card to take hard drugs and do nothing for like three days.
Also, the swelling, at least for me, has been minimal. I expected to swell up like a balloon because I can't take NSAIDS(eg. ibuprofen, aspirin, advil) because I'm allergic, but my face is hardly noticeably bigger.
when theyre putting it in, lay down, close your eyes, and tell them a very complicated story. I pass the fuck out every time they draw blood or give me any type of injection, im a total bitch about it... but this trick works for me.
Also, They checked it out and my jaw is big enough to accomidate my massive wisdom teeth, so ive just gotta wait 10 years for them to fully rock in and ill be munchin vegetables like a mothafucka. awesome
You're just more evolutionarily advanced than the rest of us, no big deal. Without doctors to remove our wisdom teeth we'd all be dead, but you'd survive. Congrats!
Holy fuck the first 2 days were awesome because I just took ridic meds and watched movies all day and ate jello, but then I got dry socket, and the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep or walk and the meds didn't help because it was nerve pain. Worst ever.
You'll be fine. Just don't look. And you won't be awake when they take it out and then you won't remember a thing. I don't like needles at all either, but really there's nothing to worry about. Just make sure you don't get dry socket... If you do take clove stuff. I unfortunately did not know about that remedy in time...
how long did it take you guys to fully recover, i got mine out this morning and honesty I'm feeling fine. My gums where the teeth got taken out look completely normal as well, there not bloody at all. There still is the occasional "pain surge"
You'll get some swelling and bruising for the next few days, but sounds like you are doing well. As long as you don't get an infection or dry socket, you shouldn't feel too much pain. I didn't have bloody gums either. Just keep taking the meds that your doctor perscribed and keep your mouth clean when you get the kit when you go back to see the doctor, and you'll be all good!
If you drink pineapple juice the night before, you should have minimal bruising/swelling. I ate pineapple chunks in juice the night before and had no bruising at all.
I had mine out last year, it sucked. one side got infected after the swelling had gone mostly down so I ended up looking like a chipmunk but only on the one side. super attractive
You should be good to go as long as you aren't in significant pain. I wouldn't run or anything that soon because of the pounding, but skiing should be harmless! They usually tell you to not do significant physical activity for about a week, but it depends how you're feeling. Just take it easy. Have a good recovery :)
make sure to take your meds they prescribe you and drink cold beverages and ice your jaw and you wont swell up.
slowly start waiting a bit longer to take your painkillers to see how much pain is actually left, and whether you actually need to take the painkillers anymore. but take the antibiotics until your prescription is up cause it fights infections
Hahah it is the best high feeling when you wake up. Apparently on the car ride home I talked about chicken and sang Possum by Phish over and over and kept asking if this was real life hahah.
I got mine out in seventh grade. It pretty much sucked. I don't really remember stuff from that day. During the wisdom teeth procedure i got two screwed put in my mouth to help pull up the two big front teeth. I completely forgot about those because my cheeks were swelled up and i looked like a chipmunk. Also Not being able to eat the food my family was eating while i was eating oatmeal sucked soooo bad.
Haha it does suck... all I wanted to do was eat, but I couldn't. I ended up loosing like 10 pounds and looking frail because all I couldn't eat much at all for like a week and a half or 2 weeks.
