Le Massif Quebec

I was wondering if anyone has been there and if its worth the ten hour drive, I took one look at the trail map and now i really wanna go there. What i see is more vertical then anywhere east of the Rockies with lots of blacks and glades all serviced by great lifts. On the downside i heard it gets ridiculously cold and its a ten hour drive. If youve been there let me know how it is.

Ten hour drive i dont know, but def worth my 2h30 drive every time i go there. Very nice mountain whit nice glades. Good snow too and a nice view .

I went there once, it was -35 c without windchill so yeah its cold as fuck. There was a foot of snow like 2 days before but the glades still had lots of leftovers. Good tree skiing for east coast, most INSANE view of the st lawrence river.

I've only been there once
it`s quite nice
it has a backcountry section(nice glades)
If i was you
I would Hit all the Quebec City area resorts

Le massif/St-Anne/Stoneham

Nice riding for the 2 first with ok Park
and the last one with a nice one
St-Anne and Stoneham don`t have any jump but some nice rail
Especially stoneham

there is also Le Relas but it`s quite small

Very pretty mountain that's big enough but is still without the tiresome resort atmosphere. The hills are great and there's some sick tree runs. Like people said, the view of the St. Laurence is AMAZING. Sometimes you'll be skiing up to a pitch and feel like you're about to drop off into the river.

Not sure if it's worth a 10 hour drive just for the skiing, that really depends you. But you could always make it a road trip and hit up Quebec City and Montreal on your way home.

Like people said it can get deathly cold in that part of the province during January especially. Massif gets dumped on from time to time, I know they used to go just on natural snow. So make sure to check the weather and conditions before you go, hitting it when there's fresh pow and it's not too cold would be dope.

Yes it's getting cold out there sometimes cause it's facing the St-Laurent. But it's true that it's an amazing resort, and the view you get is really sick, feels like going straigt in the St-Laurent sometimes. One of the sickest mountain here in Quebec !

Id say it depends on the forecast, I live 20mins from the hill and I've only gone once. I can say it was truly epic, probably a foot and half of pow with nobody on the hill. Most definetly best pow day I've had on the east. Oh and it alwalys snow more than the resorts of the quebec region, a 15cm a montsainte-anne can mean a 20-25 at le massif. go if there is snow, if not its definetly not worth the 10h drive.

been going there end of january for the last 4 years, definitely do it if you have the chance. for the last 3 years we have gotten a foot or more super light snow overnight and there is usually no one there on pow days cause the highway in gets shut down. its never been to cold, and the glades are amazing.

le massif with fresh snow is pretty impressive. And the view..But if I were you I would, as mentionned before, turn this into a road trip and I'd go to Mont-Sainte-Anne and Stoneham as well

Saint Anne could be worth skiing but I would stay away from Stoneham. I have a cottage there and used to love skiing but ever since RCR resorts stopped making jumps the park there has suffered badly, rails included. It used to have the best park in eastern Canada IMO too.

Favorite montain. Has a nice little park, some powder, backcountry and of course a nice view. But yhea, it can get cold as fuck..

Such an amazing mountain.
The guy who owns it is really passionate about it. Last season was a poor season and they still recorded 500cm there average season being 640cm. Lots of tree skiing and a big backcountry area, accompanied by the amazing views. This year they put in a new gondala to open up more backcountry terrain. Everything is new and the terrain is a good constant pitch down to the river. Lift lines when I was there for a week were almost nothing just continued lapping the long runs. Don't expect a good park though it's all big mountain skiing here.

I have skied in the east Killington, Stowe, Jay, Tremblant, Big White, Mont St Anne and Massif. Overall the terrain at the Massif is better then any of these.

I would really suggest going here and it does get cold in Quebec, but just dress for it and ski hard and you will be good. You can also hit up Mont-St-Anne on your way which is much more traditional ski resort compared to Massif
