I can tell you what the discovery is, since it was leaked:

The discovery is about a new form of life found on Earth, in the Mono Lake in Yosemite park, California.

These lifeforms are constructed completely differently than the modern life forms that we equate life to be, as they do not have the same DNA/RNA characteristics that are lifeforms have - the are based on arsenic.

Our current lifeforms, and those we have been seeking for outside in space, contain phosphorus, and in these lifeforms there is no place for phosphorus. They are built around arsenic.

While this is not they E.T life update we all hoped for, it's a huge step in realizing that there many more possibilities for life in space very different than ours, we who live of oxygen.

where was this leak from? They didn't really give good detail right there. Although doing some quick reading, there are some bacterias that use arsenates for respiration. and apparently there's a large amount of organoarsenic compunds known so this can't be that strange.

plus there's a typo in that article.

Yeah for sure i'm checking that out. Apparently the arsenic thing is what everyone thinks but it still lacks any good details as to how arsenic is involved in the function of an organism. Plus they announce the world cup thing tomorrow too,it's a big day.

The leak is probably right. NASA wouldn't just come out and say oh hey we found actual alien life, it'd be a much bigger deal that just a press conference since it'd change the world and would cause a lot more problems than good for the majority of the world.
