K2 Silencer Ski Size. Need Help

Hey guys!

Im gonna buy a pair of K2 Silencer 2011 and i need help for the size.
Im 178cm, 75kg.
Which size i could take and why? 169cm or 179cm?

I am definitely a park and urban rider.. What experience you have with Silencer 2011?

A general rule of thumb is to go with skis that are approximately your own length. So I'd suggest the 179 as well. :)

169 would just seem too small so get 179.

At the moment i have 178cm Rossignol Brigade. They feel so hard and not too light..
What DIN binding you recommend? What do you think about Marker Squire 11? Is it okay for me?

0 cm, dont get them they are the worst pos skis ive ever owned.  dont mess around and just got armada or something.  I promise you will regret buying these skis

So you recommend these skis for park/rails/boxes/urban ?
And im 178cm, so you think that 179cm would be great? But what bindings? Marker Squire 11 maybe?

Whoever hates on this ski is a fool, and I don't say that too often about a K2. Ski actually kills it, stiff, supportive, snappy, lightweight (well, for a K2), durability is never an issue with one of their products, all said, killer choice. My only beef, it's next to impossible to sell with the terrible fucking graphic it has, so if you can get past that (some people can, some can't, some like it, and I think they're weird), you'll be in for a kickass ski.

And 179. The rocker makes it ski a bit shorter, on top of the twin feeling shorter, and mounting it forward (I'd go -2 cm, but thats just me) will make it feel really short. All said, the 169 would feel like a skiblade to you.

when sizing twintips, you've gotta compensate for the raised tail in the height. you lose about 4 inches of length from a regular ski, so you gotta go four inches higher. so ya, generally buy twintips that are your height

A few things to consider:

K2 measures their skis really short. A 179 K2 is more like a 183 from another brand.....that said, they are all rockered this year, so they will ski shorter.

The Silencer isn't really a stiff ski as far as park skis go. It is much softer that comparable counterparts such as the 2012 or the halo.

It is an awesome ski however, playful, buttery, and really really fun.

Ill go for the Silencer 2011 :)!

But one thing, is the binding. Is Marker Squire 11 suits for me? Im 75kg.

The 2011 is a brand new design, with a brand new top tooling to eliminate the gnarly chipping and it now has all-terrain rocker. Sick ass ski.

A POWDER gear tester said it best in the mag with something like, "There are skis that cost twice as much that are not half as good."

You're starting to get on the heavy side for that binding. I'm about the same weight and I wouldn't go with anything lower than a 14 din, remember you weigh quite a bit more with all your gear on. I've never had marker bindings so I can't recommend those, but salomon sth bindings or rossignol/look fks/pivot series are good choices.

griffons for marker. buy fks if you wanna spend the cash, they're crazy sick, but they cost about 200 more than griffons.
