Alright im getting a new helmet and i am wondering what your preferences are. I am looking at pocs right now but i dont have a specific model in mind and im open to your suggestions.I have crowbars so i would like the helmet to fit well with crowbars.
Weight should be the least of your worries I have the giro g9 and I love it, it's not flashy or anything but it is very safe which is the most important thing, it's also only 100 which is pretty good for a safe helmate I would also recomend anything. Made by poc but it is very expensive, if you are doing heavy pow like in Alaska I would recommend getting something like the poc backcountry, it has a tracing system in it if you get stuck but the really cool thing is a new technology called MIPS I would recommend looking it up even if you don't have any intrest in buying it because it is so cool
i have a smith maze as well and its great. not in love with the color i have, but if i desided to get a new helmet it would probabley be another mase. aslo, i used to have the burton r.e.d. helmet that shaun white wears and that fit the curve of crow bars a little better, but i would still opt for the maze.
definetly go with smith or poc. i have the smith holt park and i love it and i know that the maze is sick and super light too. i dont know much about poc but ive heard they are pretty sick
Whatever u do dont get a red helmate, also I wouldent recommend smith, I know that people like them cuz they are light but they aren't safe, the shop I go to refuses to sell either of those brand because they just aren't safe helmets at all, go with giro or poc
sort of sounds like bullshit. I mean, I can't imagine that a helmet rated for ski/snow would really be unsafe, I mean, we're not in Cambodia, smith and red would get the shit sued out of them if they were selling unsafe helmets.
