In an attempt to sound less like a douche and actually try to help your desperate case, you should not edit in after effects, adobe's editing program is Premiere pro. And I'm not too good with compression yet, but you should not export in .mow, it makes the hugest files I think. You need to compress it using another format (I'm pretty sure MPEG is a good option)

Wrong. mov and mp4 are the best to export to, h.264 compression.

truth. but yea after effects is not meant to be used as an editing program, a lot of people seem to think it is so i don't blame you, but i have no idea how that misconception started.

Had this problem too. When you check your rendering settings, make sure its not on 'LOSSLESS', this is for when you are going to use it in another edition program etc. afterwards. Pick .mov or whatever will work best for your workflow/end result.
