Well I have graduated from Umass Amherst, however, my friend is putting
this on. I tried to get this to happen for years and finally Jiminy
Peak is going to help make it happen with their jibs. Here is some info
on it:
Together we are putting on the
first ever UMass Campus Rail Jam to benefit the Virginia Thurston
Healing Garden, a non-profit charity organization for Breast Cancer
awareness. The event will be December 10, 2010 from 4-8pm on the UMass
Campus. Students as well as outside competitors can test out their
skiing and snowboarding skills on rails and boxes typically found in a
mountain terrain park. The competition will consist of an open session
where points for tricks are awarded by a panel of judges. The top
skiers and riders will then compete in the finals to determine the rail
jam champion. Attendees will receive customized T-shirts and Hot Cocoa
Cozies with a donation to the charity.

All in all sounds like it should be legit, I will not be there since I
live in Colorado, but I would def be in attendance if I still went to
Umass. Kind of pissed it took 6 years for the Ski Club to figure out
how to make this happen. It will be right in the center of campus at
the Campus Center on the stairs.
