hey i know alot of you guys are gonna say "just nut up" but does anyone have any tricks you use to get into the mentality to try a new trick

yeah "just nut up" is always a good thing to do, but i usaully listen to music and take a few goes to get used to whatever feature im gonna try it on. if im with friends i have them shut up, or tell me im a pussy for not trying cause that usaully makes me motivated, if not, the dead silence and focus on the feature usaully gets me in the zone. hope that helps.

dont be afraid to take a fall. and if you were to dont tense up. thats how you get injured even worse. visualize yourself doing and landing the trick

ok well "trying it" strategies are pree much already all listed, but if you wanna try it and stomp it i'd say visualise. Like before I do anything i'm not used to and/or comfortable with I always just jam there for a good solid minute and just go over it in my head, what it'll look like, what i'll be seeing, things to think about, song choice, just everything depending on how big it is, lol

visualize it, relax, take a deep breath, drop in, commit, and most importantly, fall or land MAKE IT PAST THE KNUCKLE...the worst thing you can do is approach slower cause you think it'll hurt less, cause it hurts way more knuckling (whether or not you fall or land it) than most falls past the knuckle.

trying a new trick is all about actually thinking that you can do it. my favorite way to do it is but taking smaller steps toward reaching the final goal. its all about getting comfortable.

Visualize it.

Visualize it in 3rd person, then 1st person, then 3rd, then 1st OVER AND OVER.

If you can see yourself stomping it in 1st person and you can fully understand the rotation/trick you're doing from that perspective, you'll be really close to landing if not stomping it first try.

Also, for me, the decision to try a trick usually happens in the split second when I feel the kicker start to pick me up. It usually happens when I come into the jump expecting to do something simple and at the last second I think, "Screw it" and toss myself. That might not be the best thing to do, but usually it works for me.

If you can do the trick on the tramp just think and visualize yourself doing it on the jump You did it on the tramp, therefore you can do it and it´s not that hard. And do not just try the trick, go fo the trick to stomp it.

Session the feature with a few friends, get stoked, it helps if they're trying new stuff too just to get your mindset right.
Chances are you've got the height/speed/skill/whatever if you're even contemplating throwing it but you just need to get the 'fuck it, huck it' thing going on and some good vibes can help that.

ski with someone who is slightly better than you so they can give you any tips. for me i usually just put on some loud music and zone out everything around me. the first time i tried a rodeo i just kept thinking to myself, "don't be a pussy and fucking do it" and sure enough i just thought fuck it and threw the rotation. your natural instinct will bring you around to your feet if you are somewhat familiar with the rotation.

pretty much everything thats already been said. for its: find a feature you love/throw all ur shit on anyways, visualize (know the rotation, have it down on tramps, practice setting it, etc,) and then if you need i final kick in the rear i usually tell myself "go on 1 u pussy" and then count down from 3 (or whatever number you prefer). usually works for me.

For jumps, if im trying a  new flip for example, ill straight air, 3, 3 ,3 maybe 5 then go for it. By this stage getting speed wont be  a problem and youll be more confident of the jump itself.

Don't think about it. I've tried some crazy shit because I did it as soon as the idea popped into my head. It usually works out fine, just trust that your instinct will take you there.

The more you think the less likely you are to ever do it, because all you think about it what happens if it goes wrong.

a really easy way to learn new stuff is do it on a trampoline and get it stomped there,then learn how to do it with just one bounce and that way doing it on skis is way easer than just huckin it and hopin for the best
