if youre looking at your average parabola, there are infinite X values (ie. Domain {xER})
usually with parabolas, there is one restriction on y - its minimum or maximum value (ie. Range {yER, y>8} or something like that)
i dunno which types of functions you're doing, but root functions have a restriction on X an Y, reciprocial functions have restrictions where x=/=0 and y=/=0, and absolute functions have the same restrictions as parabolas.
lines do not have restrictions unless they have a defined starting point.
