Rockered park skis...

what do you guys think about the armada halo or the k2 domain? i ski a lot of park, a bit more jib oriented, but i still like to hit small/medium sized jumps. lots of butters. and im 5'7" 122lbs.

im loving my alpha 1's so far.realllly low swing weight on rails, and still pretty stable on larger airs.

The Domain is nice and soft for jibs, really fun to play around on, and can still handle jumps pretty well (better than the Afterbangs I was riding last year).

If you want to ski park and some powder, then I'd suggest the Revival mounted a bit back from true center.

^ this guy knows whats up. i hear really good things about domains and the now have jib rocker which would be very fun to play around with in the park

Been skiing on the Domain for about 10 days now. I absolutely love them. They're super fun on rails,jibs and to play around with, stable and just overall the funniest and best ski I ever ridden. Get them

the Halos have been pretty nice so far. i haven't had any jumps to hit yet but i have been hitting little side trail jumps and i like the swing weight. good amount of pop and stability switch.

I don't have any experience with the domain, but the revival is pretty sick.  Even though its supposed to be stiffer, I find that its a very soft ski.  Butters are super easy with the zero design, and I honestly feel like I can ollie/nollie higher with the design as opposed to regular camber.

The domain seems like something that you would enjoy riding. Except the rocker is more just like zero camber I find.

I rode the halos last year and liked them a lot. I was hitting 50 foot jumps and they held up fine. Plus they are super fun on rails.

im also thinking about alpha 1s. do you guys know if the race base will hold up at all on rails? also, are they too stiff to do lots of butters, or does the rocker let you butter easily even though its stiff? thanks

The race base will be just as durable as any other base as long as you wax it often.

sorry for the double post, but does the rocker help at all in powder, or is it just too minimal to do much good with the skinny width... thanks

^ive tried them in some shin-deep snow (1 cm back from true center) and the rocker does noticeably help, but it still doesnt do that much, i still had to lean back quite a bit. definitely fewer tip-dives, but i still think im going to get a pow ski anyway.

yeah the tapered tip and tail does a great job of eliminating most of the beneficial anti-tip diving characteristics of rockered skis in soft snow

the alpha 1's are a really fun ski, i've had some edge cracks so far this season though, butters are really easy on them

just went to evo an hour ago, they said the domains are buttery and good for jibs, but they didnt have the pop required for jumps without camber =P

I still don't know. It depends how stable they end up being on jumps. I like the fact that they will be nice and forgiving to get yourself out of sticky situations, but I don't want to get too squirly and cause problems. I really want to demo a pair sometime though.
