Some of your footage still looks a little overexposed/blown out. Not sure if that was the flat light, or really was over exposed. Check your histogram.


You arent shooting film, dont do film burns. Sorry, but its just so cliche.


What are you using for stabilization? Cuz things still look a lil shaky.


Definitely improving, and i enjoyed it, but just a few tips.

yet the goal of many filmmakers is to emulate the film aesthetic, so i don't see what's wrong with using burns as a tool to do so.

what does irk me though is when people use film burns incorrectly (in a way that would never occur using actual film). OP, you only slightly did this when the burn stayed the same brightness but the image faded. If that was a real burn, it would fade along with the image.

Other than that, I definitely enjoyed it. It looked overexposed (i'm guessing you were just having a little trouble trying to find the right exposure in flat light, which is difficult), but remember that in flat light it looks better to have darker colors and detail in the snow than faded colors and completely white snow.

No stabilization. I would have put more effort into it while filming, but the plan was for the edit to have the feeling that it does, and i thought a little shakiness added to it.

word. you can always use a tripod as a ghetto glidecam. works surprisingly well.

Yeah I know haha it usually works great but Jack and i literally were holding our tripod together with a lanyard that day so it didnt help much haha.

word. and i understand wanting to have the freehand not overly glidey look, some of em just almost had vibration rather than just not static shots. just something to keep in mind.
