yet the goal of many filmmakers is to emulate the film aesthetic, so i don't see what's wrong with using burns as a tool to do so.
what does irk me though is when people use film burns incorrectly (in a way that would never occur using actual film). OP, you only slightly did this when the burn stayed the same brightness but the image faded. If that was a real burn, it would fade along with the image.
Other than that, I definitely enjoyed it. It looked overexposed (i'm guessing you were just having a little trouble trying to find the right exposure in flat light, which is difficult), but remember that in flat light it looks better to have darker colors and detail in the snow than faded colors and completely white snow.
