Cut pvc

i cut my pvc in half to get double the length anyone done this? does it work?

what size pvc?  I cut a 3" pvc pipe in half and screwed the sides of the pipe to a 2x4.  It worked okay but the pipe started to crack around where i put the screws in, but it did last me about a season.

yea it was a 2'' pvc pipe and i screwed it right in the middle onto a 2'' x 6''
