What should i do about this?!?!

hey guys. i have had these a-bangs for a few months but only skied them 3 days. i just started to love them when i hit a rail badly. i wasfine but my ski is not even close. take a look at the damage.Click for larger imageClick for larger imageClick for larger imageClick for larger image do you guys have any suggestions on what to do about getting a new ski? or any other options? i talked to my local shop guy and he said since its in the tip there is nothing he can do. i really need to ski or i might go insane. thanks for the help! +k for good help and bumps

dam dude that's rough. I'd try another shop and see if they can do some emergency repair, it's prolly going to cost you like $120 though.

Thats impact damage, you said it yourself. Most companies wont cover that, they'd be crazy if they did, but I'd give it a shot anyways. Just be really nice and considerate in the email and include those pictures.

thats what i am afraid of. i am hoping they have a spare 166 from last year that they will sell to me but i dont know. i sent them an email yesterday and so far they havent emailed back but i gotta give em time i guess

try and get line to throw you a bone first like the other guys said, then see how much a shop repair would cost, and if its too expensive for you just epoxy the shit out of it and hope

its a 2 part epoxy you can buy at auto stores that gets really hard. Lots of guy use it on cars to ghetto rig parts.

damn that sucks, if you cant find a place to fix it for you and LINE wont exchange you would either have to buy a new ski or ghetto rig it. the JB weld was a good idea, or there is a gorilla glue that is crazy strong. i would get some of that, some clamps/vice grips and fill the gap with the glue/weld and clap it shut overnight. just make sure you dont get any on the bottom of your skis, if some comes out of the crack in the bottom there than take a credit card or some thin sharp edge and immediately scrape it off and clean the area.

ghetto as fuck, but it might work. JB weld is some crazy strong shit.

i took it to them and they said they could only epoxy it and it would maybe hold 3 days or so.

your local shop has all the tools to epoxy it almost like new. my shop charges like ten bucks to do it. it pretty simple.

im really considering shipping them to line and seeing if they will give me a new pair on warranty because 1 i wasnt going fast
2 it shouldnt just fall off the core like that
and 3 i have a smaller pair of skis and maybe i could get better at rails while they are evaluating the afterbangs.

IF you get it fixed instead of just getting a new ski, you should have it remounted backwards, itll look cooler and you wont have to worry about breaking it when nosebuttering, cuz the ski flexes more when you nosebutter...

If I couldn't get a warranty I would jb weld and rivet it. That was a good call about mounting it backwards.

it depends on what you have acess to. but you would drill a couple holes through the ski and use washers on either side, pop rivets would be better than nothing but see if you can get someone do it with real rivets, like someone in sheet metal fabrication.
