Well, I've never tried on the Empire gloves, but the Armada's are super comfortable and have the dexterity of a pipe glove. If you want something warmer, than I would go with Empire, but if you want something that gives you a bit more flexibility and dexterity while sacraficing a little bit of warmth, but not too much, i'd go with armada.

just looking for something that gives a good level of warmth, isnt too big or ugly and gives a lot of movement.

I have the Armada Cramps gloves and they get pretty wet and they are not that warm if you buy them cover them with leather waterproofer
