Line vs. Moment vs. Armada vs. K2

Hey guys it time for me to buy my new skis. Here is what im looking at. Let me know what u guys think as far as suggestions, or personal experiences with the ski. Also if u guys have a suggestion for another ski not listed here let me know, but try to keep it in the price range of these skis. Thanks!

 

Line Step up

Pros: skate deck construction, true twin tip

Cons: (hear they were heavy)

Armada AR7

Pros: Sick bases

Cons: Not true twin tip

Armada T-Hall

Pros: all around sick ski

Cons: Not true twin tip

K2 Silencer

Pros: Early Rise

Well, since you said that being non-symmetrical was a con, it sounds like you want the Reno Jib or the Step Up.

Line Step Up
stiff flex. heavy ski, probably becuase of the skate deck construction.

Armada AR7
medium flex. light ski. seems to be a super fun ski.

Armada T-Hall
softer than the AR7. light ski again. again, it seems to be a fun ski.

K2 Silencer
i dont know anything about this ski.

Line Chronic Cryptonite
i thought this skis was going to have a stiffer flex, but it is a softer ski. its in the middle of the AR7 and T-Hall. wider ski.

Moment Reno Jib
stiff flex with out a doubt! super light ski! fully symm. unless you like stiff skis i'd suggest getting the AR7. i cant wait to get mine mounted and ride them.

1.) not looking to be a trend whore and jump on that boat. half of my mountain will be on them. 2.) top sheet r ulgy as fuck (doesnt matter for quality though)

idk, i mean you could always spraypaint the topsheet gold or somthing....

tell us how much you weigh and where, do you ski rails more, or jumps.

Line Step-Up - Ok so these and A-bangs = Price point skis. Cheap and durable, but heavy and unresponsive (I skied abangs). I wouldn't get them unless they were my only option.

K2 Silencer - Basically a slightly rockered version of the extreme, which is essentially the Public Enemy, which is my least favourite ski ever. They have made changes since then but I wouldn't go anywhere near them personally.

AR7 - Light, poppy, medium flex and lots of fun (skied the AR6 but these feel virtually identical). They can do just about anything and I don't think you can really go wrong. Personally I like symmetrical skis better though.

T-Hall - Pretty much same as above but softer.

Moment Jib - I had the 08 which was stiff, but since then its more medium-stuff. Stiffest of your options though. Great ski, super light and super durable (in my experience). If you ski lots of big jumps then this would be my 1st choice. Amazing on rails

Moment Rocker - Symmetrical, slightly rockered, and so fun. Super light, medium flex but with rocker for butteryness. If you want to just jib rails i'd take these. They do ok on jumps too but I wouldn't pick them for big jumps (not that I ski really big jumps). My first choice for fun and games, jibbing and the like.

Volkl Wall - Medium flex (similar to AR7 these days) but symmetrical. Great ski, durable, little heavier than Armada/Moment. Can do everything from jumps to butters. I'd probably pick these over AR7s as a middle ground, but this year I personally hate the graphic if that matters to you.

I'd think what it is you want to ski, and then pick the Jib (if you aren't bothered by butters or are heavy) or Rockers (if you just want to play). If you want an all rounder I'd prob pick the Wall because its symmetrical but the AR7 also kills.

everyone loves the domains, who cares who else has them. as long as you're good you'll stand out more over everyone who has the skis.

Get some Armada's! So light compared to other skis and the edges last a lot longer! I personally prefer the softer ski so T-Hall is where it's at!

I have a friend who got ar7s and called armada asking if he could center mount them and they told a lot of their pro's do so you could probably get away with center mounting them.....also armada makes super legit skis so i would get the ar7s

Check out ON3P Blue Steeles. Symmetrical and have rocker. Also really light.

honestly the domain sounds like what you're looking for. they're true twin, slightly rockered, and all around super fun. after skiing mine for a few days, the only downside i've found is that they don't hold wax well. other than that, they're awesome so far. there's probably a reason that a ton of kids have them... k2 nailed it with this ski.
