So my experience with cameras is always looking at the 3-5000 cameras. A friend of mine wanted advice on what to get for something that will run her like 300, im at a loss for what to get.
1) What is your budget? 300
2) She has experince with slrs and SLRs, looking to get into video
2) What gear, if any, do you currently have? cheap wallmart style tripod
4) What are you planning to shoot and how do you want to use your camera? Are you going to use this with the sole purpose of shooting skiing? or do you think you might try other stuff as well? Mostly skiing, might want to shoot some other random stuff but mainly skiing
5) Do you want a camera that you can hand to your friends, that could or could not have film experience, and let them shoot you? or will you be doing all the filming? would be ideal to have something that if need be can be passed on, i cant imagine this will be much of an issue in this price range
6) When filming skiing, how do you tend to shoot? It'll be her first time shooting at a mtn, would like to do some follow cam stuff and also throw it on a tripod-wasnt feeling the go pro so much so thats more or less out
7) What computer do you currently have/use to edit-Mac book, same thing that i use to edit xh and hvx footage on so i can handle anything other then maybe avchd format
