Moving to portland. mt hood?

okay so ill be moving to portland next summer and will of course be going to hood quite a bit. ive only been to Tline in the summer and a lot of my friends have been saying hood is a boring mountain? im from ohio btw so i personally think its gonna be a blast for me. so for those of you that call mt hood your home mountain, how is it?

and i plan on getting a fusion pass so i can go to timberline and meadows.

Just any insight on the mountain and portland would be great :)

Fusion Pass is Tline and SkiBowl, not Tline and Meadows. But I buy the Fusion, it's easily the best value on Hood. You get Tline's legit parks (although we'll see how the new Park Manager does), and you get SkiBowl's terrain when there's snow. SkiBowl gets quite a bit of rain but it's not as bad as everyone says if you know how to dress. I've heard SkiBowl is gonna try to do their night rope tow park, snow permitting. And you don't have to deal with Meadows crowds, or the extra 30 minutes to get there. Meadows definitely has some cool terrain, I just don't think it's nearly as good as all the secret spots on SkiBowl.

oh i thought the fusion pass was for meadows, my bad.

so in your opinions, what is the best resort on mt hood?
or what season pass would i want to buy?

tline is a good mountain for park and easy groomers, overall its terrain is garbage though.

skibowl has decent terrain and the best night skiing, but not the greatest snow since its much lower in elevation.

the fusion pass is a good value for both resorts

meadows has the best terrain on hood and probably has the most skiable area. meadows sometimes has a good park, but most of the time its just a decent jib park. its take them a while to setup all the tables and their park crew does a lousy job of maintain the park features. they have good prices on season passes, if you're 24 and up the pass is $450 a year, under 24 years old and its $100 cheaper or more.

snow for tline and meadows tends to be very similar, both have similar elevation with tline going up a little higher.

okay. so for the money the best buy would be a fusion pass?

does hood get nice pow days?

I think SkiBowl has the sickest terrain, especially with all the easy to reach side-country spots. And I paid $340 for the Fusion. If you're available to get up on the good pow days it's easily the sickest terrain.

Meadows in the winter and $99 spring tline pass. Because tline gets white out and high winds with the slightest sign of snow and ski bowl generally doesn't get snow. Portland is a good town but govy isn't.

The winds really aren't all that bad, and SkiBowl definitely gets good snow if you're flexible enough to hit the good days.
